proposal to conduct qualitative research to gather information on household/community gender dynamics in Sierra Leone. This uses the same case study as the first research proposal, but this time you must set out plans to use qualitative methods (e.g. interviews/focus groups/oral histories/ethnographic methods). At least part of the proposed research should be relevant to at least one of the three gender laws (Domestic Violence Act, Devolution of Estates Act, and/or Registration of Customary Marriage and Divorce Act)
You could structure your research proposals according to the following sections:
Brief Introduction. This should include an overview of the research proposal, and should state you research aims/questions. It should clearly indicate that you’re proposing a project with a specific focus on X issue in relation to Y research methodology.
Choice of method and justification (about one-fifth of the proposal). What are your chosen research methods? Why are they appropriate for studying this issue?
Implementation of the research (about two-fifths of the proposal). How will the research be implemented? Specifically, where and how will you be collecting data and what will you do to analyse it? Who will conduct data collection/analysis? What will you do with the information that you produce?
Ethical considerations and limitations of the methodology (about one-fifth of the proposal). What are some of the ethical issues you might encounter and how can you pre-empt and address them? What are the limitations of your proposed method, incl. what kinds of information cannot be gathered? Are there any other drawbacks to the method?

Tell us about yourself, your career aspirations and future educational goals. What have you done so far? High School? Education? Internships? Hobbies? Do you work? What is your major or area of interest so far? What do you do for fun? Tell us about your family.
Part 2: Racism and Discrimination:In addition to the pandemic we continue to struggle with the concept of appreciating diversity, and discrimination and prejudice still exist in many forms. For example, you may have been discriminated against because of your ethnic group, religion, height, weight, gender, disability, or even academic skills. I’ll start with my example. I am half Mexican, however, I don’t look it. I have spent my entire life living with subliminal racism in my own family, one side against the other side. And, because I look “white”, I witnessed even more racism through others’ micro-aggressions (Micro-aggression is a term used for brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral or environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative attitudes toward stigmatized or culturally marginalized groups). To make matters worse, my Mexican family lost their Spanish language because they were not allowed to speak their native language in schools – this was passed down to my father and then to me. My own family had to hide their Mexican race and so I learned to hide it as well.
As a female, I have also witnessed discrimination and micro-aggressive behaviors toward girls and women in many forms. For example, while I was in high school, I was interested in architecture and so I enrolled in a drafting class at my high school. The entire class was full of boys only and I felt intimidated due to the lack of female role models, I dropped the class and decided not to pursue architecture after the experience.
At Cuyamaca College, we have many Chaldean students who are Christians and have emigrated from Iraq to avoid religious persecution. Since the attacks of 9-11, this group has faced discrimination at our college and in our community. Whenever there is anything about terrorism in the news, many students who are from the Middle East suffer discrimination even though they have nothing to do with terrorism.
In the current pandemic, we are witnessing more violence and racism with black and brown communities being hit the hardest with COVID-19 and racial and social inequities.
Give an example of a circumstance where you have experienced or witnessed discrimination or micro-aggressions. Any ideas on how to reduce discrimination and micro-aggressive behavior? Have you or anyone you know been affected?

Your response to the discussion question will be in two parts. Use subheadings to label your answers Part A and Part B. The first section is a common question about the readings that everyone will answer. In the second section, you will select one of six different questions to answer.
PART A: What was the “Greek Miracle” as discussed by McClellan? Why was it called this? What are some examples that in your opinion were the most “miraculous” examples?
PART B: Select one of the following questions to answer. CLEARLY INDICATE the question you are answering in your thread title. For example, if you are answering the first question type: “Response to Question 1.” I would like to see all the questions answered in as equal numbers as possible.
Use the readings to inform your answer. If one of the questions is not supported by the readings (most are), then you are to use our library to research it. There is to be NO USE OF COMMON WEBSITES in your answer under any circumstances. Scholarly and peer reviewed research only. Visit this link to assist you: https://apus.libanswers.com/faq/2244
