Read the following case:
Jason began playing Hockey at about age 10 when his best friend began taking lessons at the local ice rink. Jason’s hockey career continued though middle and high school but ended abruptly in college when he began struggling to handle a full load of courses while majoring in electrical engineering. Jason’s life continued with graduation, job, wife, and children. It was not until his son reached the age of 10 and showed an interest in hockey that Jason decided to join an adult league at the age of 43.
Jason’s team played during late hours since that was the only time available after work at the rink. Jason loved the feeling of skating fast around the rink and realized he still retained some muscle memory of the skill he once had in high school. He also enjoyed taking his son to public skating sessions on the weekends to share his knowledge about the sport.
It was a rainy Saturday afternoon during a public session when Jason took a quick turn on the ice and felt something pop in his left knee. He immediately felt a sharp pain and his knee felt weak. He called his son over and told him they had to leave the session early.
Jason sat on a bench in the lobby for about 15 minutes to see if his knee would feel better.
“Maybe I just tweaked it a little” he thought to himself.
“Maybe it will feel better if I just sit for a little while.”
He pulled up his pants leg to examine his knee and observed the swelling and redness.
“This doesn’t look good,” he thought.
Back at home, Jason rested on the sofa with an ice pack on his left knee. He debated what to do next. Should he just try to tough it out or should he go to the emergency room.
He decided to ask his wife.
“Molly, could you come over here and take a look at my knee?”
Molly entered the room and saw the swollen left knee.
“I think you should go to the hospital” she said. “This looks like more than just a pulled muscle.”
“The swelling keeps getting worse and I can’t put much weight on it” exclaimed Jason.
“Get in the car, I’m taking you,” said Molly.
At the Hospital
The ER doctor examined Jason’s knee.
Here are the findings:
Pain, redness and swelling of the left knee.
Positive Anterior Drawer test of the left knee.
Reduced range of motion.
Positive Lachman test of the left knee.
Positive Apley’s compression test of the left knee.
The ER doctor ordered an X-ray and MRI of Jason’s left knee.
Answer the following questions about the case:
What tissues/structures could be damaged in Jason’s injury?
What do the Anterior Drawer, Lachman’s, and Apley’s tests indicate?
What would an MRI and Xray show?
What is your working diagnosis?
What do you think would be the degree of this injury (first, second, or third)?
What would be a good treatment plan for this injury?

Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory
This assignment is designed to let you demons essay help site:eduIntermediate Macroeconomic Theory
This assignment is designed to let you demonstrate your understanding of an economic model and your ability to apply the model to real world data.
This project will be using actual data for the U.S. economy to evaluate the Keynesian expenditure model and use it to estimate future changes in the economy.
Begin by reviewing the Okun’s Law model in your text. Write a one page summary of the model emphasizing key assumptions and implications of the model.
You will be using date from the FRED database maintained by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. The web site is found at:
At the top of the web page you will find a search box. Search for unemployment rate. You will be taken to a page with a selection of data bases. Select UNRATE and click on the “add to graph” option. You should now be on a page with a graph of the unemployment rate. Take a moment and examine the graph. Placing your cursor over the graph will show the actual data represented.
Now click on the “edit graph” button found in the upper right part of the screen. This opens a table that will let you modify the data in the graph. Under frequency select quarterly and use average for the aggregation method.
Next, click on the ADD LINE tab and enter real GDP in the search box. Select the GDPC1 option and then click on add data. Then, under units, change the data to percentage change from one year ago. Click on the FORMAT tab, scroll down to line2 and change the vertical axis to right. Note how your graph has changed. Now click on the X in the upper right-hand portion of the editing table to close the table.
Using the date range selector chose 2016-10-01 to 2021-10-01. Take a moment to examine your graph and how the two data sets relate to each other. Specially note that you have unemployment data for the first quarter of 2022, but the GDP series only has data for the fourth quarter of 2021. When you are done, click on the download button and download the data to an EXCEL spreadsheet. Open the EXCEL file and save it.
In your EXCEL file, create a column for estimated percentage change in GDP. To calculate this column, use Okun’s Law. You should be able to estimate the values of real GDP for every quarter except the first quarter in your data. Next, create a column labeled deviation from true. To calculate this column, subtract the actual percentage change in GDP from the estimated percentage change shown in your column.
At this point you can compare the prediction of the model to the actual data. Write a one page analysis describing how well you think the model performed in estimating the percentage change in GDP. Look at your estimate for the percentage change in real GDP for the first quarter of 2020. How confident are you with this estimate? Explain why or why you are not confident.
Be sure to include a copy of your EXCEL table with your paper.
This assignment can add up to an additional 4% to your grade. You will be graded on the basis of your ability to follow directions (10%), you grammar (20%), the clarity of your style and presentation (30%), and your demonstrated understanding of the model and ability to use it to analyze real world data (40%).
Criterion 100% 80% 60% 40% 20%
