Essay 2 Genocide Awareness Week (4 pages) Study Guide
Please pick two of the talks at Genocide Awareness Week
and compare and contrast them. Genocide Awareness Week covers a wide array of topics. Its keynote will be delivered by Father Desbois, a scholar of the Holocaust, but other genocides such as the Armenian Genocide, the experience of Native Americans, Bosnia and others will also be discussed in various talks and panels. Whatever talks you chose to attend please follow the guiding questions below for your essay.
Who are the speakers and the topics you heard? What kind of position do the speakers hold, which institutions, governments or administrations do they represent?
Please identify and compare the central arguments of the speakers you heard.
Discuss the evidence the speakers fielded in support of those arguments.
How do the two talks relate to each other? What – if anything – do they have in common. Are there any shared themes in the two talks you heard?
How to write your essay:
This is a difficult assignment, as it forces you to relay someone elses thoughts expressed verbally. It also asks you to put two talks in perspective to each other that might cover very different topics.
Please be sure to relay the ideas of the speakers as often as possible either in direct quotes or in paraphrasing. Listen carefully to the argument made – how should we think about a genocide, memory of a genocide, political handling, prevention and so forth?
Look out for the evidence used be that archival, oral histories and other ego documents, statistical, archeological, etc. How does the speaker back up the claims made?
1. Introduction
(A) What are you discussing? Which talks are you referring to, which genocides were discussed, did the talk focus on prevention, the genocide itself, memory, justice, etc?
(B) Why is it relevant? For example: The lack of information on a particular genocides may be reminiscent of other failures to prevent genocide in former Yugoslavia or Rwanda.
(C) What is your thesis? How do the two talks relate to each other, if at all?
2. Main Body
Discuss the themes mentioned in the introduction and provide ample evidence from the talks.
Hint: Begin each paragraph with a topic sentence. Each paragraph should have one major idea you would like to develop at this point. Your first sentence of the paragraph should delineate this idea.
How to quote: No need for footnotes, you are quoting a verbal expression.
3. Conclusion
Refer back to your introduction. What do these talks have in common? What did you learn from them?

In
chapter 15, the author elaborates counter measure’s objective is to
compromise with the organizations’ daily needs in order to have a
balance setting. According to Norman (2016), specify the main goals for
security countermeasures include: (1) where possible, identify, and deny
access to potential threat actors; (2) deny access to weapons,
explosives, and dangerous chemicals; (3) make the environment suitable
for appropriate behavior and unsuitable for inappropriate, criminal, or
terrorist behavior; and mitigate the actions of both hazards and
threats. Moreover, applying strategies involve: a) control access to the
target, denying access to possible threat actors; b) where possible,
detect threat actors from acting; c) detect any threat action; d)
respond to any active threat action; e) gather evidence for prosecution,
investigations, and training; f) comply with the business culture of
the organization; g) minimize any impediment to normal business
operation; h) help to create an environment where people feel safe and
secure and can focus on the purpose of the organization; I) design
programs to mitigate possible harm from hazards and threat actors
(Norman, 2016). The benefit of evaluating these tactics will be the
ability to identify previously unidentified security weaknesses in
businessses and develop a viable security countermeasure. Goals and
plans are excercised different in order to accomplish elimination of
potential threat actors from taking action in the organization, all
depending, in the organization setting and the assets being protected.
Convenience stores, for example, don’t have an access control as a
federal building have due to that in the store any one is free to walk
in and don’t have armed security protecting the place and if it did it
will deter normal business because people will feel uncomfortable
walking into a setting where staff are heavily armed (Norman, 2016). An
essential concept discussed in Chapter 15 is that every organization
functions different and not all potential threat actors are interested
on the same concept, making it necessary to assess the organization’s
assets and security in order to select the best security countermeasure
to protect the organization (Norman, 2016). According to Chun-Jen Chung
et al. (2013), indicate there are many countermeasures that may be used
to limit attackers’ capabilities, and it’s critical to distinguish
between compromised and suspicious virtual machines.
Please reply to the following:
According
to Norman (2016); In security, countermeasures, it is important to
identify potential threat actors, control and monitor weapons,
explosives, and dangerous chemicals. Lastly, it is vital that the
organization have a plan for both hazards and threats. These goals will
ensure that security is ready to combat any issues the asset may face
and that everyone will be protected. “Multi-layered security is an
approach that utilizes several distinct components, which all serve
different purposes and protect different things, to defend your
operations and secure your ICT infrastructure and services” (AMDH
service limited, 2021). Essential, multi-layered security makes sure
that there are defensive components protecting the asset. Each layer
protects a specific area that threat actors could target. As a result;
countermeasure goals, objectives, and strategies create the opportunity
for countermeasure selections that provide multi-layered security
protection. If the analysis of countermeasures declares that an asset
needs more protection, then multi-layered security will be provided so
that no harm will come to the organization.
In
the event of a failure or lack of coverage, multi-layered security will
guarantee support and protection. With advancements in technology, it
has been proven that threat actors can easily attack an asset.
Therefore, it is necessary for multi-layered security since they provide
internet protection, email and file security, virus, and malware
protection, susceptibility assessment, and analysis, etc.

In the lecture film “D writing essay helpLink to film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FACK2knC08E
In the lecture film “Don’t Panic,” you will learn about population and where we stand today. You will see how things have developed over time and where we may go in the future. The end conclusion is that things really aren’t that bad.
Please answer the following questions in your response in 4-8 sentences.
The presenter in this film, Hans Rosling, often points out that people are misinformed about the state of the world. Did any of the facts presented here surprise you? In the end, Rosling concludes that things are not so bad, suggesting that doom and gloom are not in line with the facts. Given the relatively optimistic facts, where do you think he may be underestimating the challenges? You should focus mainly on carbon emissions, air pollution, climate change, or any other environmental issues we’re facing. Do you think humanity will rise to the occasion to overcome these challenges, as they did with population growth and life expectancy?
For this assignment, you will compose an original research paper on an approved college essay helpFor this assignment, you will compose an original research paper on an approved topic. The paper itself should be double-spaced and formatted according to the style used by the student’s major. Theology, Biblical Studies, and Christian Ministry students must use Turabian. The font must be Times New Roman in 12 pt.
1. You will first submit a thesis statement. A thesis statement is not an introduction, but a paragraph that includes 1) statement of the issue, problem, or question you will address in the paper (the “thesis statement”), followed by a 2) a brief description of how you will go about discussing or answering the thesis.
2. The paper itself should be 2500-3500 words in length, not including the title page, notes, or reference page (use the Word Count function under “Tools” in MS Word to find the length of your paper and edit accordingly). Notes or in-text references, title page, section headings, page numbers, reference page or bibliographic should follow the appropriate style. You must complete the paper in MS Word and submit the paper via the assignment link (in the week it is due) to the professor by the due date.
You will select a topic related to those covered in the course. You may select either a historical topic or a significant idea or doctrine of the church (“historical theology”). The professor must approve the topic chosen (submit a tentative thesis statement for approval).
a. Your paper should be on a topic of history or historical theology, and should not address other discipline (e.g. leadership or education). Students are expected to interact with and properly cite 3 respected theological sources (at a minimum), not including any course texts. Course texts may and should be used, but they do not count toward this minimum. Internet sources are not allowed in your research paper, including Google Books and previews.
b. Sources other than your textbooks should be scholarly books or articles. E-books and full-text articles (which can be viewed on your computer) from the Regent University Library databases(http://www.regent.edu/lib/) are allowed and welcomed as sources. English dictionaries, concordances, and study Bibles are not considered theological sources. In all forms, books, collections of essays or journal articles are preferred.
c. Be sure that you examine both sides of an issue if writing on one of the controversies in the church.
3. One major difference from the standard format of an essay (introduction, body of the paper, conclusion) is that each paper must include a section of application to the contemporary church.
a. Place the application after the conclusion.
b. Suggest how the conclusion of your paper can be applied to the contemporary church, or to the faith and practice of Christians. Do not merely suggest an application for the individual. The application can be moral, doctrinal (affecting the teaching of the church), or practical (affecting the everyday habits of Christians).
Submit your completed paper via the link provided above. Be sure to put your name in the file name of the assignment.

Pick either his Malcolm X phase or his Malik El-Shabazz phase but you will still read the whole
book because he is describing his life through the lens of what he has learned throughout his life.
Do you agree? Tell me what he thought of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s strategy and your opinion.
After a brief introduction paragraph, spend two paragraphs explaining two of his
strategies from that same timeframe. That is, two strategies from his Malcolm X period or two
from his Shabazz period. Spend a paragraph on what he said about King. Note that he is trying
not to call out King by name so you will have to figure out what he means. Finally, give me a
paragraph no longer than a page explaining your opinion. If you agree, say a bit about how it
would work today. If you disagree with Malcolm, do you think you would agree if we were
living in 1952? Do you think there was some value in his message? What was it?
Avoid other sources, especially websites; your essay should be about The Autobiography
of Malcolm X. The essay should show that you
understood the book with plenty of specific examples. Do not be vague or use stereotypes about
Malcolm X.

FAQ
How should I get started?
Have the Personal Responsibility and Critical Thinking Rubrics open in front of you. Your grade will be assessed according to these two rubrics.
How many sources do I need to cite?
You must site some sources. See the Evidence component of the Critical Thinking Rubric. Though there is no minimum number of cited sources beyond our textbook, sometimes you need to refer to other source material in making your argument. Whenever you discuss content that should be backed up with a source, be sure to incorporate accurate sources and cite them.
What format and style of citation should I use?
Use MLA. Academic philosophers use Chicago Manual. If you continue studies in philosophy, you will learn Chicago Manual; however, for most introductory students, it is not practical to learn it. MLA is fine for the purposes of this course

Write a philosophical essay based on the proposal you submitted and the feedback essay help site:eduWrite a philosophical essay based on the proposal you submitted and the feedback you received.
You are required to research further and develop arguments on the problems or issues identified in your research of the topic.
Your argument needs to address the relevant key philosophical concepts, ideas or theories addressed in the course related to your topic.
In your essay, you MUST consider some objections to your arguments and claims. You should critically engage with arguments rather than just explain them (depending on the degree of complexity of the arguments you focus on). It is important at the beginning of your essay that you clearly set out what you are going to address. You cannot address everything so it is also important to flag what arguments you are not going to address and offer reasons.
When selecting appropriate materials you may include the Set Reading for the topic you’ve chosen. You MUST also engage in independent research and go beyond the Set and Further reading. Use only scholarly sources; avoid dictionaries, Wikipedia, blogs, and websites containing unreliable sources and go beyond encyclopaedias. Reliable online and print resources (journal, books, anthologies, chapters in books) are available from the UQ Libraries, Philosopher’s Index, PhilPapers and if you must use Google Scholar!
All assessment is designed so that you can demonstrate your understanding of the subject material and your analytical ability to reflect critically and engage with the substantive arguments contained in the readings and lectures.
Ensure that the focus of your Philosophy Essay addresses the assigned task.
References in Chicago 17 notes and bibliography style are required
Your Philosophy Essay will be assessed according to the following criteria:
Ability to define the topic or philosophical issue under debate. (Topic definition.)
Ability to construct a well-reasoned argument for a certain point of view. (Argument and Structure.)
Depth and breadth of understanding of the various positions in a philosophical debate. (Scope and Depth of Treatment)
Insight and/or originality in interpreting texts or constructing a point of view or argument. (Originality)
Capacity to produce a polished, well-written and appropriately referenced essay. (Presentation).
To achieve a grade of 7 (High Distinction, 85-100%), your essay should reflect an exceptional level of achievement. It should demonstrate that you have undertaken extensive, high-level research, that you are able to form a very rigorous, well-organised argument, and that your discussion is original and creative. It should also demonstrate that you are able to evaluate and organise data and/or evidence in a critical manner and that you have a sophisticated and insightful understanding of problems and issues. Your essay will be very well written, clear and concise, pay strict attention to discipline conventions and have minimal if any errors in referencing, expression, grammar, spelling and punctuation: This grade is assigned for a total (sum of all the assessment components) in the range 85-100%.

Book Reviews: The 2 page book reviews (double spaced, 1 inch margins, 12 point Times New Roman font) help you hone your analytical and critical thinking, reading, and writing skills.
The reviews should follow a set format of four paragraphs:
1. The first paragraph should identify and explain the author’s thesis or argument. Another way to think about this first paragraph is to ask why is the author writing? What is the message they are attempting to convey to the reader? Most importantly you need to be able to say, “the author is arguing…”
2. The second paragraph should contain a summary of the book. What is the basic story? How is it organized? What do the chapters cover? What evidence/ historical information does the author use to support their argument?
3. The third paragraph should analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the book. Where is the author’s argument compelling? Where does it fall short? What is particularly persuasive? What is missing? (Hint: this paragraph is not a place to complain about the book)
4. The fourth paragraph should place the book in the context of American history and the class lectures. How does the book fit with the lectures and discussions? What does it reveal that the lectures could not or did not? What does it add to our understanding of American history? Your book reviews will be evaluated on how well you have understood the material in the book as well as how well you have communicated that understanding in the four paragraphs described above.

This week, your assignment is to write about the American news media–specifical college admission essay helpThis week, your assignment is to write about the American news media–specifically, political and national news media.
Select several (at least two) major television and/or print media outlets in the United States. (For example, you may choose to look at CNN and Fox News, or the New York Times and Washington Post, among others.)
Research their corporate ownership, political party connections, ideology, target audience, notable writers, anchors, reporters and commentators, and any political leanings you observe. Share your findings. Be specific. Use your own words.
Explain the reputation of the news entities you selected historically, compared to today.
Describe the unique qualities of each major outlet you have selected and what distinguishes them from one another (or, in some cases, how they are similar to and mirror one another). Compare and contrast.
Next, cover the following:
What role did the national news media play in the presidential election of 2020?
Provide several (at least two) recent examples of significant political events and happenings, of the past few months, and how they have been covered by the media.
With the 2020 election and related events, do you see differences in coverage and frequency of coverage among the news outlets you have selected for this assignment? Is coverage unbiased or slanted in one direction? Explain.
Important: After conducting your research, do you believe that there exists a media class or a “media elite” in America? What does this mean, and why or why not? What are “framing,” “priming,” and policy agenda-setting? Explain what each of these terms means, including examples when helpful.
Then, briefly mention how technology and new media fit into the picture: What purposes do news available on the internet serve? Is access to new media sources important to a nation’s citizens? Why?
Finally, in your concluding thoughts, include: What are a few key things you learned from your research for this assignment?
Please:
Research thoroughly.
Write clearly.
Make your paper as current as you possibly can (the more recent the better).
Cite properly (using MLA).
Provide examples and explanations, as detailed above, throughout your work.
Check and double-check your paper for spelling and grammar correctness.
Be sure that your paper is a cohesive, well-written research paper that shows your own knowledge and work, not just answers to my questions.

Compare and contrast I’m So Fine by Khadijah Queen with Spectacle by Susan Stein essay helpCompare and contrast I’m So Fine by Khadijah Queen with Spectacle by Susan Steinberg and the empowerment as well as the portrayal of women in both books
One strategy that generally helps to yield ideas, as well as to write a structured essay, is to compare and contrast two different books.
Whatever you choose to do, you’ll need to have an over all argument/thesis. If you decide to do a comparison/contrast essay, this shouldn’t be difficult to come up with, as these activities generally lead to some over arching idea about the main similarities and differences between the two works. Your argument should be supported by specific textual evidence (please cite page numbers).
