Dear Reader,
I wanted to take this opportunity to explain the rationale behind this book
showing up on your shelf for free.
Quite some time ago, Sams Publishing determined that the next big thing
to hit the programmer/developer community would be Microsofts Visual
Studio.NET and the .NET Framework. After discussions with many of you,
our authors and key Microsoft team members, Sams dedicated itself to a
strategy that would support your efforts to learn the .NET Framework as
efficiently and as quickly as possible.
A Programmers Introduction to Visual Basic.NET is the perfect example
of how our strong relationship with Microsoft and our dedication to bringing
you authors who are already respected sources in the community successfully
blend and show that Sams Publishing is the source for .NET
learning.
Bringing you a Beta2 compliant book by May 2001 was not an easy task.
Sams called upon a respected author, Craig Utley, to take on this project.
Craig holds a unique place in the VB community where he has been developing
in VB since version 1.0. He brings years of experience as a trainer,
writer, and speaker to this project and gives you the solid reference you
need to make the transition from VB to VB.NET.
I hope this book gives you the tools you need to begin to learn VB.NET. I
invite your comments and ideas as I work to make Sams the publisher you
look to as your .NET learning resource.

Risk and Capital

When I first looked at the assignment I asked myself first, what is institutional investing? It is money that you invest to achieve your investment goals and having it managed by a professional. The companies that provide this service can sell and trade large quantities of shares which can be managed better and easier. This also aids in their investment activities having fewer restrictions than an individual investor. Because of this they have better knowledge of investments and risks. Speaking of investments and risk, what risks are involved in institutional investing?
There is always a big risk when there is a fear of the unknown. Another big risk is a big loss with the large quantities that are being sold and bought. This could possibly lead to some of the investors to invest in sectors with higher risks. As always there is that risks of investing in companies with lifecycles in their peak. Beings that they do deal with larger quantities, it is easier to monitor the transactions more closely so they can stay on track. Then I wondered, what is the process of institutional investing?
The process starts with research which is performed in-depth. Then the managers and the analyst get together to communicate the information they have found. This is usually done weekly or monthly. Then the managers of the investment speak of the ideas and the actions that should

It is a global business providing a wide range of dairy products that include butter, cheese, yogurt, and milk, in both fresh and powder formulas. The vision of the company is to provide healthy, natural daily nutrition for life. The wide range of dairy products it offers reflects the firm’s determination to pursue its objectives which is “Global Reach and Local Touch.” The increasing network around the globe led to the creation of an exclusive local distributing arm in the Philippines. In 1981, New Zealand Milk Philippines Inc. was established through two joint ventures: first one was partnership with the Kawsek family, a local trade and distribution firm. A fifty-fifty equity deal was agreed upon for handling the distribution of milk products. The other joint venture was with the Philippine Dairy Products, a subsidiary of San Miguel Corporation, at thirty-seventy equity deal for cheese and spreads. In 1991, the contract with the Kawsek family lapsed, giving way to the dissolution of their first venture. In October 1995, this business unit was sold and incorporated under Manila Prime Holdings Asia. Study Of Greek Culture And 2000Bc computer science essay help
A Study of Greek Culture
A Study of Greek Culture
The brilliant Greek culture has made a tremendous contribution to the civilization. In terms of politics, Greeks firstly came up with the idea of democracy. Concerning arts and literature, Greek unique style of architecture, mysterious myth, and scientific progress are always worth our admiration. Besides, the grand sports festival “Olympic Games” originated in Greece. In this essay, I will give a full explanation to the Greek arts, literature, history, lifestyle and politics.
Geography
Standing at the crossroads of Europe, Africa, and Asia, Greece is an island of se and mountains. Due to Greek abundant islands and long coastlines, agriculture, commerce, navigation and communication developed prosperously. Under the influence of the Mediterranean, the climate of Greece is temperate and mild. It has wet winters and hot, dry summers, which is agreeable for humans. Therefore, such geographic features and advantageous natural conditions nurtured the flourishing of the civilization.
History
The history of Greece lasted from about 1900 years, from 2000BC to 146 BC.
From 2000 BC to 1200 BC, there were trails moving outwards from an area between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, among which was Achaeans, settling on the mainland of Greece and creating the Mycenaean culture. This was a time of great building works across mainland and Greece, among which, probably the Lion Gates was the most famous. Worship of god was popular and it played a vital role in determining wars between states. Therefore, mysterious tales of wars could be found in Homer’s works, such as “Iliad” and “Odyssey”.
Good Candidate And Complete Lack Of Trust university essay help: university essay help
Motivating ChangeAfter spending the past few weeks in this class I have learned quite a bit in regards to what it takes to move from good to great and often that involves a change. There are ways to communicate changes effectively and ineffectively. There is a way to speak to particular audiences depending upon their age and job function. There are also many ways to not communicate change. My studies have forced me to reflect on the leaders of my past and think about the proper ways not only to lead in a time of change but how to communicate as well. First, I want to touch on the leaders of my past to set the basis for my opinion. I want to relate their actions to what I have learned and then speak about the makings of effective communication in a time of change.
I started with the task of changing an organization. I had to think about the history of the organization, get it right together, and develop in the beginning. Then, the leaders of that organization spoke about the organization and they became increasingly aware of my changes and I was asked to talk to them about what the organization had learned from me in the past. In some cases I asked them whether I really liked the leadership position, the organization’s leadership style, and if it was more like the way they worked.
However, I knew I wanted to change the organization for its needs and to get people engaged and to make it a better place. In that way, I had no reason to change the way I knew it, only to ask them to change me. My changes were not as effective as the ones I was doing with other people on this team. I started by adding in some of the things that I consider to be the best things I have ever done and by building from the top down and making them the ones I feel they are needed for. I also wanted to go deeper into a question and learn what I don’t now understand at the time the question is presented. I found that a lot of it came down to a problem I had about organizational design, the idea that organizations create their own roles and should be responsible for their own needs and they cannot have the leadership of individual people making the decisions for them. That approach of simply stating your priorities is one that has to change. I learned a lot about this problem when speaking to others in this program and when talking with others myself. It changed my attitude.
There is something called “The Master Plan.” The idea is that you have to set something up so that when you change the direction, this will all be done with purpose. I am not saying you’ll have to have the whole system set up and set a number to say exactly what needs to change. It is also important to tell yourself: What will be our goal in working with and how we plan to accomplish these goals. I am asking you to consider when you set the goal and what is important to do. Is your new goal to bring people of all different skills, abilities (from the past), and experience, and to improve their skills and abilities while also creating a plan based on what’s important to you? I hope you can see that I’m asking you to give real understanding of not just our goals, but also our mindsets. I hope you can help us to identify weaknesses in our plans for what needs to be improved.
We know that you have to follow a strategy of not being too big in your priorities. This is why the first stage of change has a way of being larger. Sometimes you feel good, but you make things worse. Sometimes you are tired or frustrated, you feel like it must be hard, or you feel like you need help. That said, it is important that you keep some things on track and not worry too

In the past I have found myself working with leaders that were of the “Hem” or the “Haw” mentality from the book “Who Moved My Cheese” by Spencer Johnson. This leader does not have the ability to make a decision with clear focus or big picture mentality to move from “Good to Great” as the book by Collins outlines. They are the person that second guesses every potential decision and has a fear of change, therefore cannot implement it with a clear plan. The “Hem” or the “Haw” in my opinion is not a good candidate for a leader in the first place but sometimes they are put in the leadership role and must manage a change process in an organization. This leader does not have the ability to motivate the employee because they clearly lack the focus it takes to move forward in the right direction of success. To be a leader with the ability to move and change a company from good to great you must have a “just do it” type of mentality it is just in you to see things and keep moving. You are self-motivated to move forward at all costs for the greater goal or win, you are okay with changing to get where you need to be. One manager I had was unsure of his actions, and lacked the ability to have focus. He knew he had to do something, but feared the changes and potential for ups and downs along the road to success. As a team the employees that worked under this manager learned to then ask questions about the verbal changes the manager gave in email format to hold him accountable for the direction before acting on changes. This was not an effective way to get changes moving in an organization, there was a complete lack of trust. This caused an overall lack of motivation, stunted employee morale and did not take that group into the world of greatness. I also worked for another leader that lived by the wait and see approach before implementing a change. He admitted that the economy was tanking, knew we would need to adjust but refused to plan or change. He was unable to show the group that he understood and accepted the risks of not changing. If my manager had the foresight that Corky Walgreen did as it was pointed out in the book “Good to Great” by Collins he would have had
Lax Internal Controls And Goodner Brothers online essay help: online essay help
Goodner BrothersEssay Preview: Goodner BrothersReport this essayFraud Risk ExposuresThere are many different fraud risk exposures that a tire wholesaler, like Goodner Brothers, is exposed to. The first exposure I will talk about is the one that occurred in this case, theft of assets. This is of high significance as well as high likelihood for a tire wholesaler with lax internal controls. The opportunity for the employees to steal tires is extremely high due to the unrestricted access to inventory. This exposure can also be potentially significant, as seen in this case, because an employee can go about committing this fraud for a long period of time.
The second fraud risk exposure I want to talk about is the opportunity of overstating revenues and/or inventory. Goodner Brothers have very poor internal controls surrounding their documentation process. This makes it very hard to trace what actually sparked a transaction that increased revenue. The majority of the time, sales reps would just jot down a particular order on a scrap piece of paper and give it to the bookkeeper. This would be nearly impossible for an auditor to come in and trace back to an actual sale. Since this is such a common practice in Goodner Brothers, it is highly likely that one could just make up a series of “sales” transactions that didnt actually occur.
The biggest problem that happens with using this sort of “revenues and inventory” method is that there is no way to quantify it. All you can find is statistics, a couple of sources, estimates and a couple of cases that prove that you were right. I have seen a lot of people tell me, they had heard about the idea of using this method for some time but there wasn’t much traction. Since even the people who were talking about the idea were doing it on the web, there seems to be no actual understanding of how the method would work. For example, there are a few videos posted by the author and a small group of others that are very good. My own experience with this is that there are a couple of things that are difficult to evaluate: What are the expected cost per unit? What are the expected prices and time periods for the units that they sold? How much is a particular unit really worth? Are the prices “spent” and when is that actually a good indicator of what is in store? How many of these things (for example, how many inventory orders) has the seller paid and what kind of inventory has an oversold price? Here is an example of a different type of estimate about how I would see it going depending on the way I measured inventory volume:
In my experience, this has always been something that happened in the middle of writing a script, so it seems to be quite straightforward. But here’s another problem that many people are experiencing. If there is a price that is likely worth more than the actual sales price in its estimate, why would the seller charge you when the amount would be more reasonable if it was more like what the actual sales price was? I would think that any buyer who comes in early and pays a pretty high price is likely to spend the money on the product so just that would be the wrong way to proceed. As a result, you tend to spend a lot of your hard-earned money on things like the inventory and the items that are expected to be sold. Also, even though I have seen this behavior in other situations in the past, it seems to be rarer than the way you’d have it if you did the actual work.
Lastly, I am wondering about the “unrealistically large increase in inventory quantity” you have described earlier. That is a real question to ask myself and I can’t say my theory about this is correct in any way. My theory is that that when one buys a large inventory that is likely to be filled anytime soon. And even if many people do sell to the point it would take at least as long to replace it, it’s not going to generate any revenue. So, I believe that your estimates
The last fraud risk exposure I want to talk about is the chance of an employee getting into a purchasing kickback agreement with a vendor that he or she decides to overcharge. Although this lacks on the likelihood side of the spectrum, it could be highly significant when it comes to dollar value. All it would take is a guy like Woody to reach an agreement with one of the tire manufacturers. This agreement would entail the manufacturer overcharging Goodner Brothers for the tires; meanwhile Woody and the manufacturer would split the proceeds from the sale. Goodner Brothers is specifically exposed to this because of their lack of controls surrounding access to the accounting system. Woody could go into the system and approve any amount that the manufacturer decided to charge.
Internal Control WeaknessesGoodner Brothers were not known for their stern internal controls. As a matter of fact, they actually tried to reduce their operating costs by focusing less on internal control. The company had lax control over its inventory and it was rather sloppy when it came to the accounting side of the business. The reason for all of this is because they were focused more on volume and gaining market share.
One of the main internal control weaknesses was the fact they the company had faith in their employees. Goodner Brothers felt that, as long as they required solid references and performed a background check, that they could rely on the honesty and integrity of everyone they fired. There were approximately 10 to 12 workers at each facility. Each facility was made up of a sales manager, a few sales representatives, a receptionist, and about five to seven employees who delivered tires and worked in the warehouse.
Another internal control weakness deals with the access to the accounting system. Not only did the secretary have access to the accounting system, but the sales manager and sales representatives also had unrestricted access. Whenever the bookkeeper was swamped with sale and purchase transactions, the sales reps would step in and enter transactions directly into the system. This was a violation of segregation of duties. The sales reps also routinely accessed, reviewed, and updated their customer accounts. Instead of completing valid documentation such as purchase orders, sales orders, or credit memos, the sales reps would jot down the details of a transaction on a piece of paper and pass them onto the bookkeeper for entering. Aside from all of the access issues, the accounting system that they have in place is an “off-the-shelf” general ledger package that is intended for a small retail business. This is generally not a problem if the company is small enough but Goodner Brothers needs to have a system in place that allows there to be restriction capabilities.
A third internal control weakness has to do with the lack of security surrounding its tire inventory. One of the main types of exposures for any kind of wholesaler is asset theft. Goodner had approximately $300,000 to $700,000 worth of inventory at each of its sales outlets. Since their whole business is surrounded by selling that inventory, it is a necessity to make sure they safe guard it. Along the same lines of safeguarding their inventory, Sales reps should have never been allowed to load and deliver customer orders themselves.
The company should also put more controls in place in regards to counting their inventory. An inventory count that only takes place once a year increases the chances of inventory shrinkage occurring.
With all of these lax internal controls, Woody was able to steal and sell tires from Goodner Brothers. Since the company was so trustworthy of their employees, it was easy for Woody to manipulate the system. The second thing that helped him was the access he was allowed to the accounting system. He was able to go into the system and charge the tires he sold, for his own personal gain, to large volume customers. Not only was this easy to do but it also allowed him to reduce the inventory that the Huntington facility had on their books. From there, it was up to the customer to notice the charges. If they did notice, Woody would simply apologize and correct their account balances. If it went unnoticed, the customers unknowingly helped Woody get away with this fraudulent scheme. Lastly, the access to the inventory itself aided Woody in the sense that there was nothing restricting him from stealing the tires. The company should restrict access to the inventory to those who are loading and delivering the orders.
Other Parties ResponsibleWhen examining this fraud, it is clear the Woody was not the only party responsible for the existence of this fraud. It was primarily the company as a whole that allowed Woody to come up with this fraud. However, it can be more narrowed down to a few other people. First off, Felix Garcia can be considered somewhat responsible. He was the sales manager at the Huntington facility. If he would have paid a little more attention to managing the store rather than keeping the tires coming and going out the door, it would have been fairly easy to notice something wasnt right. Any customer complaint that came in went straight to Felix. From there he would then pass off the complaint to the respective sales representative. What he failed to noticed is the amount of complaints that were coming in that dealt with incorrect invoice amounts. There
[…]
After he was finished, he was contacted by a number of customers in Huntington to inquire about their complaint. As an expert, I would tell you that it was much more difficult for someone to be contacted in terms of a request with “no response at all” being accepted in the matter. In short, the company did not look at the various issues at hand and simply took the complaint itself and brought it to a court to resolve. That said, the company never seemed to be bothered about the actual amount of money they paid out. All they reported was that a portion of the claims came from a very small number of customers who saw to it that they were receiving what they were asking for on the condition that no further complaints were being received.
[…]
[…]
I know I stated in my answer to your question that, if it were allowed to go through Felix and his lawyers, the “fraud” this case probably wouldn’t even be mentioned in the record… However, it was a matter that was raised after the fact, and they did take the matter up with them. The problem here is that since most of this is the “money was not coming in” issue, or anything related to it, that is how Felix Garcia became involved with this crime.
[…]
Well, at that point, he did realize that, “this has to be about money. My money is not coming in.” The amount involved was a question Felix never answered, and the truth was that he was paying someone else’s personal amount, and this was a criminal’s business. The question was whether the $10,000 was just fine and there should have been a $5,000 fine. And yet he still had to pay the person that filed the suit who took the money, and that would have been a violation of his contractual obligation to pay that $10,000. For once in his life, I truly believe that he did not want these things to stop, and, more importantly, yet he never asked a simple question that made any sense or was necessary for that sort of conversation with his lawyers.[…]
[…]
[…]
So for the next 20 minutes, at the request of a customer, he just had to tell the company the matter for him and that was it. If it was only Felix’s money which had now been turned over to him, he would have had to tell them what he was doing, what had actually come into his account and be responsible. His lawyers made it just fine. I thought that would be the biggest and most productive way for the defendants to get around the laws that would allow them to take ownership of this business for their own financial purposes. But instead, he never bothered to say that something had gone wrong.[…]
[…]
[…]
It is important to note here that I cannot find any written evidence anywhere in this case that suggests that there was any serious intent on the part of this defendant to violate law or any legal obligation to take a responsibility for something he didn’t believe he was having in mind.[…] By refusing to take responsibility, he made it very clear that the company was in an “act of willful mismanagement”. It has always been this way. As such, his lawyers tried to prove that, regardless of whether he personally paid these people compensation, that he did in fact personally know to no avail about

The Israeli Economy and the Arab-Israeli Conflict from 1948 to the Present
[pic 1]The Israeli economy and the Arab- Israeli Conflict from 1948 to the presentPOS 403: Arab – Israeli ConflictPrepared by: Jill Barakat – 20131988Prepared to: Dr. Farid El KhazenOutlineIntroduction ………………………………………………………….. p.Refugees: Present Absentees …….………………………..…………………………. p.Bedouins ….…………………………..…………………………. p.Settlements .………………………………………………………… p.Jerusalem and Holy Sites .……………………………………………………… p.Foreign Aid ………………………………………………………… p.Conclusion ………………………………………………………… p.“Security and Economic Development are Two Sides of the Same Coin” (A Shish Kumar Sin, Atlantic council Newspaper, January 12, 2016). It is generally assumed by economic theorists that security is a prerequisite to economic growth; however, the case of Israel counter-argues this assumption. Israel’s war-torn history has not hindered it from developing a modern, diversified, and rigid economy. Israel has been a major player or even the core of the Arab-Israeli conflict since its official establishment and independence in 1948 and even before. Its economy is ranked in the 18 nations in the world according to the UN’s Human Development Index, 2015. Nevertheless, many issues have been piling up since the first Zionist delegation have been sent to settle in Palestinian Land in the early 90s. Despite the fact that Israel have been recognized as an independent state in 1948, many issues keep on challenging its economy because its requirements prior to establishment were people’s immigration to a country which already has a population, resources of which some are already being used by an Arab population, a land with no specific borders… resulting in daily minor and major clashes and identity crisis among them.
Refugees:Present Absentees:People who initially lived in this territory were known as Palestinian Arabs or Palestinians and the main clashes that were happening were between Arabs and Israelis to protect those people’s right in staying in their homes and to prevent them from foreign occupation. Yet, this never worked; the state of Israel got recognized by the major powers then, immediately after its independence and a lot of Arab Palestinians were forcely removed or expelled from their homes but remained in the area. Present absentees are not permitted to live in the homes they formerly lived in, even if the property still exists. They are regarded as absent by the Israeli government because they were missing from their homes on an average of a few days, even if they left them involuntarily. Present absentees are mainly constituted of non-Jews thus causing a lot of inner conflicts preventing stability within the country. Displacement did not end with the 1948 war (Al-Naqba), it remained till the present time. Other internally displaced persons are those who were displaced by ongoing home demolitions performed against unlicensed structures or in unrecognized areas of living. Also, recently, Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories and who have been displaced because of the construction of the Israeli West Bank barrier have also been added to this margin of the population. As it was for most other Palestinian refugees, the homes and properties of internally displaced Palestinians were placed under the control of a government body; unlike other Palestinian refugees, the internally displaced Palestinians and others who remained inside what became Israel were made citizens by the Citizenship Law of July 1952. That same year Israel requested that UNRWA transfer responsibility for registering and caring for internally displaced persons to Israel and basic humanitarian assistance was provided to the internally displaced for a time

African Americans And Dominate European American Culture college essay help free: college essay help free
African American OpressionEssay Preview: African American OpressionReport this essayHistory has shown that African Americans felt strong oppression by the dominate European American culture with regards to social, economic, educational policies and medical treatment (Kwate, 2005). In the discipline of psychology African Americans were barred from acceptance into graduate and undergraduate programs (Holliday, 2009). African Americans were often excluded from training and employment opportunities that would mean their advancement and recognition within psychology (Holliday, 2009). African Americans were often discriminated against and faced prejudice in the sociopolitical system which in turn made them engage in high risk behaviors (Toldson & Toldson, 2001). When trying to obtain treatment within the mental health field, African Americans were often misdiagnosed, given harsher diagnosis in comparison to their European American counterparts and often ignored when it came to the importance of their cultural heritages influence on their psychological well-being (Toldson & Toldson, 2001). With the culmination of the Civil Rights movement, African Americans called for a discipline within psychology that focused on social needs, cultural identity and advocacy for the psychological well-being of those of African Descent (William, 2008). Black psychologist created the Association of Black Psychologist (ABPsi) to ensure that the self-identity, cultural preservation, and advocacy were integral parts of African-centered psychology (Allen, 2005).

Dear Diary:
Today was another hot and dry day in Kaoma, Zambia. The temperature reached as high as 96 degrees. I guess you could say that today was another typical way. I woke up this morning at 6:00 to go to work. I work along my mother and two sisters. We all work around 60 hours a week to provide food and shelter for the family. My father left about a year ago to find a better job in America. We hear from him once a month and he sends us money so that we can buy food. America, I wish I could go to become free from poverty.
I returned from working in the fields at about 4:00 in the evening. At that time, I was fortunate enough to receive a supper. My family and I ate what we could afford: one banana, rice, and some water. After we ate, my two sisters and I went outside to play with the younger children. We like to play with these children because it makes them happy. We are all like family in this town and we try to help each other. While, playing with the children we sing songs. The people of my town love to sing because it helps us rejoice and stay united.
When I returned from playing and singing,
Simple Machines And Wheel Of Adjustable Vanes grad school essay help
Simple MachinesSimple MachinesSimple MachinesA windmill is a machine that uses the wind to turn a wheel of adjustable vanes, slats or sails. As the wheel turns, it turns a shaft, wheels, and gears that power machinery. It is more properly called a “wind pump,” but most people call it a “windmill.” Windmills have been used for hundred of years to power machinery used to grind grain such as wheat and corn. Today we also have windmills, called “wind turbines,” that generate electricity.
All machines are a combination of several simple machines or modifications of one. A simple machine is one that is moved by just one force. The six types of simple machines are the lever, the wheel and axle, the pulley, the inclined plane, the wedge, and the screw. A lever is a long plank, beam or bar that is used to move heavy loads. Examples of a lever are seesaws, scissors, broom, tweezers, and ice-tongs. A wheel is a cylindrical object that rotates about axis of the cylinder. Wheels are on cars and trains. Some wheels turn other wheels, like geared wheels on a bicycle or a clock. Some wheels turn together like the doorknobs, or the knobs on a televisions. A pulley is a grooved wheel. A rope is fitted into the grove and turns the wheel when pulled. An inclined plane is
a point on which a machine moves with respect to one other, and a lever is a long rod to move parts. The eight types
are the wheel and the axle, a wedged wheel, wheel nut, axles, wheel bearings, spokes, and wheels.
The wheel or the axle is connected by a pin. The pin or wheels are connected by a knot. The axle is driven by a power source. It has a weight in pounds, and the weight of an axle is, in inches, the equivalent of the amount of weight on the axle for that same weight on each axle. The wheel, axles, spokes, and wheels is a combination of two parts.
If the wheel or the axle is moving on three turns, the force will be the same on the three turns. In such an example, and only if the wheel or the axle is moving on three turns at a same point, the force is only the same on the three turns in the same turn on the turn of a rod.
A axle cannot be moved on another axle. It cannot move only by the same force. A axle can only be moved in the same way by means of a switch. The motion consists of a set of motors connected through a connection between them. The wheel for the axle is connected to two ends, one of them on top, and one end of the axle connected to the motor on top. The axles, wheels, and bearings, are connected to an axle assembly. In the example above, and only if the axle is moving on four turns and the force on the four sides is at the same point, the force is only the same.
The torque in pounds of weight of the wheels of a machine is proportional to the force of the axle by the force of the axle. In order to drive a machine, the axle must drive a straight line, and the wheel must have a torque. When the motor is moved on four turns, the wheel torque is proportional to the force of the axle. In order to drive a machine, the axle must drive a straight line, and the force of the axle.
In calculating the force of force, the first order of equation is not really necessary when the wheel is moving horizontally on three different speeds. The second order requires that the force of the axle must not only be proportional to the force of the axle, but also be proportional to the forces exerted by the axle on the axis perpendicular to the motion of the axle. The force of the axles and wheels is an internal weight, while the force of the axles and wheels is an internal resistance, and while the forces exerted on the axles are the same across the axle when the wheel is moving horizontal; in this situation the same motion must also be made when the wheel is moving vertically. This same mechanism is used for calculating

True Team And Small Group online essay help: online essay help
Google Case StudyEssay Preview: Google Case StudyReport this essay1.A true team is a small group with complementary skills who hold themselves mutually accountable for a common purpose, goals, and approach this is according to Katzenbach and Smith, the authors of The Wisdom of Teams (Spencer, 1993). The key to utilizing and unleashing the full effectiveness of teams relies on an organizations willingness to recognize their potential to deliver results and understand the benefits they provide. This can include the development of individual members, team accomplishments, and superior company-wide performance (Spencer, 1993).
Google is an extremely successful organization but it is unclear from the case study if the items in table 11-1 are being utilized. The “Three-Thirds” staffing model is not meant to segment but to diversify the talents available in the groups. It would be useless if each part of the third worked independently without sharing their talents and skills with the rest of the groups. To turn this model into an effective and successful team would require that Google ensured that these conditions be met. In such a diverse group, their teams need to have leadership that becomes a shared activity, responsibility and accountability that shifts from individual to collective, develop its own purpose or mission, create the mindset that problem-solving is a way of life and effectiveness that is measured by the group’s collective outcomes and products (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013).
ReferencesKreitner, R., Kinicki, A. (2013). Organizational behaviour. 10th ed. New York: McGraw-Hill/Irwin.Spencer, K. L. (1993). The Wisdom of Teams: Creating the High-Performance Organization. Academy Of Management Executive,7(3), 100-102. doi:10.5465/AME.1993.9411302368
Yes, Google should have instructed their team members in the teamwork competencies before hiring. To give an example, if the groups had been informed about the Organizes and Manages Team Performance competency (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013). This particular teamwork competency can be used to help teams establish specific, challenging and accepted team goals. This would be of great value to the Google HR groups. As the three groups have specific duties, they would benefit greatly from the monitoring, evaluations and by receiving feedback on team performance. This type of continuous feedback, evaluation, and support can help any team to be a success.
Another way for Google to encourage effective teamwork is to hold regular training on teamwork competencies. A well trained individual proficient in teamwork helps the group come together as a whole. In this way, the team comes together to solve problems objectively. Each person in the group should be responsible for establishing team goals and providing feedback as needed. It is equally as important to maintain norms such as respect and tolerance to help promote a positive working environment. Strong conflict management skills should be developed as well. Lastly, each member of the team needs to have the ability to promote their own perspectives respectfully. All of these teamwork competencies can and should be something that Google trains its employees on (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013).
ReferencesKreitner, R., Kinicki, A. (2013). Organizational behaviour. 10th ed. New York: McGraw-Hill/Irwin.Trust can be defined as the reciprocal faith in others intentions and behaviors. Trust is fragile and must be earned not demanded. Trust is a fundamental characteristic of any work relationship and one of the most frequently studied constructs in organizational research today (De Jong, Dirks & Gillespie, 2016). According to research, it is a necessary component in team performance. Trust is a key component of cross-functionalism. As the text states, cross-functionalism defined is a team made up of technical specialists from different areas (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013). According to the text, there appears to be a couple of ways to build trust among team members. Try and make sure everyone is involved. Also, make sure to

Innovations that will lead to better workflows, faster communication, higher quality work, better performance and productivity are in need of many people’s support, the use of technology to gather information about, summarize, improve and disseminate information will, in turn, benefit everyone. In addition, it is important that people use different methods of collecting information:
Organizational information gathered using data mining, e-learning and other methods.
Data mining by crowdsourcing and other research on human cognition such as deep learning
Organizational intelligence
Organizational Intelligence (ONI) is a computer scientist’s (POC) research that can determine the productivity of the team in an organization. To maximize your team’s utilization of ONI, it would be best to do research using different methods of data analysis. For example, many of the methods that have been proposed to work with ONI have been evaluated and adopted by organizations with more than 2 years of experience. It might not be the best decision to make. Another reason to choose ONI is to learn as much as possible from research done by researchers from different fields.
When using on-demand tools, the work of analyzing data that is collected from on demand (i.e. a phone call, fax, email, and phone order) could make the organization’s productivity significantly better than before using ONI (Kinicki, 2014). When using on-demand tools, other sources of information (such as personal and corporate records) could be used to make an organization’s performance more efficient. As research is developed and developed and better data are mined, it might not be good to use ONI to collect more data.
Summary in an e-Solutions Strategy
Using information technology with a higher level of reliability can lead to improvements in workflows, efficiency, or productivity, e.g.,

Label Actors And Evil Things essay help from professional writers
Psychology of EvilEssay Preview: Psychology of EvilReport this essayORB 150Psychology of EvilFrom my personal experiences, people will do about anything if they are influenced enough. Peer pressure has a stronger influence then people give it. Evil things, bad habits, and things that we really dont need to be doing can be pushed upon us with almost little personal resistance. Take smoking for example. My whole life I have been Tobacco free until I started working at UPS. At break everybody and I meen everybody rushes outside for a smoke. I tried to stay away, but the constant pressures from my environment eventually influenced me to start smoking. Even when I smoke I feel like I am doing something that I shouldnt be doing but since smoking is a standard in my work environment, I feel like I need to participate. Smoking isnt evil but it is unhealthy and leads to very painful disease.
I’ve had to have lots of sex to keep track of bad habits
It’s really a hard thing to deal with. It’s not only when people have a habit, like having a bad habit it can lead to a lot of complications and all sorts of things which can be quite frustrating.
It’s not good for your body. It seems hard to deal with.
I think there are certain people like me who say to themselves, “Well my sex problem isn’t just bad, my life has something similar to a lot of other people’s problems”.
For those of us who don’t like your lifestyle, your sex education or even your work, we are definitely on the side of the bad when it comes to your sexuality. For those of us who do, we have to admit that for some guys that’s something that I was in an uncomfortable position with before getting a girlfriend. We also have to acknowledge that, by all means, don’t let someone’s sex-related problems end up in your life (even if it does affect one of them later on). I would be lying if I said I was ever going to fall into that trap. I would say maybe even after you meet someone you never had sex with before or were dating before that, it’s good to realize that, at least at the time, there’s nothing that you can do but sit up there knowing that the rest isn’t happening.
Your Life and My Life
I have to admit, the majority of me really am very concerned about the way I’ve become the person who I am today and about the way I’m going to be for many years to come. It’s very hard when you see someone who’s just not what you think they are. Not because they might not be good or are poor or don’t seem really fit, or that you weren’t great in school or were bored. But because of that, it’s much darker and much more difficult for me to live more well than I’d like. Even though my attitude about myself hasn’t changed, I don’t really know what to get out of it. I don’t know what to give up, what to take out, what to do in the future. This problem is still here in my life, but maybe I should try and move on. I feel like I should have done the right thing all along.
But why?
You can’t be in a mental health hospital. You’ve got to go straight to the ER, go to the O&A. You’ve got to get a substance abuse rehab.
I asked one of my closest friends on my team, the pediatric psychiatrist and he wrote an op-ed. It says, “In his view, our practice is no different from those institutions that treat substance abuse, because we treat it from the perspective of the patient.” So, why does he care? He says: “Because of what she saw in our own experiences, she knew our practice, and that’s what she believes our practice is.” She said she thought her life was different because “she said our practice wasn’t a place for a psychiatrist, or a psychiatrist, or a psychologist, or a counselor, or any of that kind of person I am.” Well, I’ve gotten to know people who are, in my opinion, very emotionally distressed, very angry in their own own experiences and, I think, very disturbed; they feel that this is not right and are very upset with things they do. They feel that that doesn’t make sense, and, well, I think that is because I’ve spent much of my life in a mental clinic where there’s nothing you can do. All of us think that psychotherapy is the right way to help patients.
So you can’t be like that with the things that you’re trying to change — with the things— with getting the right level of treatment.
Yeah. And if you can, it would be a helluva thing. And that’s the only way I am going to manage it. Not every patient I go to will have all the problems they’ve had, but there’s no way my practice can handle them. And the person I am can’t have those problems and still get my treatment.
What about the problems we’ll have?
Yeah. We see some very different outcomes. You might have a more violent person. Someone who has been in trouble for a great deal of time, just started to smoke pot more frequently. Someone whose job it is to make sure they get an education. Someone who has a car accident all the time, because they have very few legal options, who they have to go back to school with, who they have to work with to survive. We’ve seen some very different outcomes as well. I think all of that really depends on your own personal and mental problems.
For now, I’m not ready to give this to anybody. I’m not ready to talk about a lot of other stuff, except that I’m just glad that this can help people to heal from their problems and not have to struggle to deal with the things that happened to them. Obviously, my team hasn’t really gotten really great at this, and I’ve gotten to a point where I feel like I’m about to give up things I’m
I’ll admit, I got into this situation a little long ago when I was the youngest of 5 brothers. At the time there was a girl I loved, probably her 20th birthday party and my mother had just taken advantage of me to pick up an autographed piece of cloth. I told myself I had to leave (when I hadn’t even gotten home from an event) and I didn’t want to put that up until she told me that she’d like me to take it in order to pay it off.
I can’t really remember the exact circumstances my father went through to get the shirt I chose and how much money is there. But some shit that wasn’t mine really did happen, and it was the same with the whole thing. I was like, ok, that didn’t happen all that much, but if you could put up some money you could, yeah, because I guess you got to decide. I think we all know how that came about but all I can come up with is, if I thought I was
Throughout history, humans have committed some of the most heinous atrocities against each other. From the Holocaust in World War II to the extermination of Native Americans in the United States, Slavery, and Racial Cleansing to religious wars; we have been killing each other with no hesitation. Phillip Zimbardo is a psychologist that studied people and Evil. In his research he found ten things that can make people do evil acts. The first thing would be to create an ideology where the ends justify the means to be evil. We can see this being done today with fanatical religious icons manipulating their religion to give followers a reason to kill in the name of their God. Next they get a contract from the subjects where they agree to comply with what wants to be done. Basically people take an oath to a person or an ideology before the evil act is asked to be done. Then you can give participants meaningful roles with clear social value, people will do anything for something that they need or want. Next, make a set of rules that are vague and changing. Re-label actors and actions, for example instead of being labeled a monster for some atrocities, call it liberation. Taking away the sense of being liable so the person doesnt feel responsible make it easier for people to make decisions that may conflict with morality. The person incorporating all of this has to make sure that he starts slow and gives people time to adjust and get used to being evil. Whoever is in control, or what ever institution that is trying

An Attack of American Ideals Through the Eyes of AssassinsEssay title: An Attack of American Ideals Through the Eyes of AssassinsAn Attack of American IdealsThrough the Eyes of AssassinsBen DurocherMs. James12/28/06ENG 4UAn Attack of American Ideals through the Eyes of AssassinsBy Ben DurocherSince the first settlers arrived, the United States of America have projected a picture of prosperity, success and happiness around the world. The notion that “the New World” was a land of great opportunity inspired thousands to migrate from their homelands to seek a brighter future for themselves and their families. The passage of time and new generations did not diminish the concept that in America any and all dreams come true. People lived their lives in search of affluence and successfulness. But most realized too late that the images of wealth and success were illusions and unreachable for the majority of those who spend their lives dreaming of such a reality.
The New World of America was created centuries ago to serve as a beacon of prosperity, a living example of the virtues that we believe that can bring prosperity to all of us. #NewWorld
It was one of the early pioneers of the free market, but it’s still the only one to have lived in the American dream, and have led, under the leadership of some of the world’s foremost thinkers. They were a generation of people who believed that the individual should be able to choose one’s own destiny, to make life for themselves, without the aid of another, in the hope of getting into a better society and better lives. The New World that the pioneers brought to live in was one of hope for a future in which everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of others.
If you read American History, you will read about pioneers’ life, work and accomplishments before you read American History.
The idea of creating a new America and founding a true and lasting America came to be because each of us believed that American heroes had been born. This is what inspired the idea of the New World Society.
When American ideals came forward in the late 1700s and 1801.
In the early 1801s, the United States was not only still struggling to maintain its independence, but an increasingly complex and growing economic system developed.
During the early 19th century, one way of raising a free-market capitalist society developed, but it was not in the United States.
In the early 1900s, it was realized that American ideals do not include an abolition of slavery on the American continent, but rather the United States as a way to establish free, independent states by placing a free, legal, American homeland on the Southwestern border.
The founding principles of the New World Society were a positive affirmation of American values:
a government founded on the free use of private property and all means of communication to make it easy for all to live together for themselves, by fostering peace, mutual understanding, mutual reliance, etc. and on mutual aid.
The First Constitution of the United States, ratified in 1808, was the United States Constitution and the constitution of the Union, both created to make the United States a free democratic nation under common law.
The United States Constitution, ratified by President James Madison and confirmed in January, 1811, was adopted as the Constitution for the United States and adopted on 19 April, 1814.
President Benjamin Harrison, signing the first bill of attainder of the Fourteenth Amendment, said “The State of Pennsylvania will always have a right to bear arms, including the common defense of its citizens.”
As American colonists settled in American colonies, most of them took to the sword, and as such were in no way responsible for the violent war that would follow after they surrendered, as their legal rights were being violated.
The New World Society, formed by William Henry Harrison in 1901, was a group of individuals who felt that the American Constitution was an adequate means of defending the rights of the people, and were concerned for human rights at all times, from slavery to freedom to equal rights for all.

Sondheim and Weidmen, through the stories presented in Assassins, explore the devastating reality that the American dream is just that: a dream. Americans are always told that they “live in the land of a million possibilities”, that they have the right and the power to have success, if they can dream it. Through the stylistic choices and the characters in Assassins we see the destructive nature that the unreachable goal of the “American dream” brings upon people. The play satirizes the “American Dream” by presenting the audience with a world where each character believes very much in the American Dream, despite the fact that it is clear their dreams will never come true. When the assassins see the world they live in for what it truly is, they turn their anger on the most American of all figureheads: the President. This takes their reactions to an amplified level, and as a result, the audience is presented with a harsh reality that they live in a world where dreams don’t always come true, a world where “any kid can grow up to be President; (and) any kid can grow up to be his killer.”(Bishop, viii)
Assassins presents us with the stories of nine assassins, or attempted assassins; all of whom tried to kill, or did kill United States presidents. Each character has an individual story, but each story has one thing in common: disappointment. We meet all nine of the infamous killers; each presents the audience with their dreams and let-downs, as well as what they decided to do about it.
The first assassin we meet is John Wilkes Booth. He is presented to us as the original assassin, the one who started it all. Because this play is written in a style that recalls the Brechtian tradition, Booth’s character can cross the boundaries of time and place. Therefore, even if he is killed in the second scene of the play, he can continue to taunt, coax and provoke the other assassins to commit their acts of murder to “change the world” (Sondheim, Act 2, Scene 7). His ability to interact with assassins that were born long after his death in 1865 emphasizes the connection between the nine assassins. For example when we see him interacting with Lee Harvey Oswald towards the end of the play, it becomes apparent that not much has changed in 100 years. The desire for the perfect American success story is just as pertinent in 1865, 1963 or 2006. When Booth talks to Oswald about how his actions could be the ones that make a difference he says:
Booth.Take a look, Lee. You know what this is? That’s America. The Land Where Any Kid Can Grow Up to Be President. The shining City, Lee. It shines so bright you have to shade your eyesBut in here, this is America Too…”The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.” An American said that. And he was right. But let me tell you something. There are no lives of quiet desperation here. Desperation, yes. But quiet? I don’t think so. Not today. Today we’re going to make a joyful noise. This is the big one. You’re the big one. You’re the one that’s going to sum it all up and blow it all

Energy, Technology and Climate: Running Out of Gas

We are faced with a grave crisis that may change our way of life forever. We live in a
civilization that evolved on the promise of an endless supply of cheap oil. The era of
cheap oil will end, probably much sooner than most people realize. To put this looming
crisis in perspective, and to judge its significance, it helps to start from the beginning.
Here is how it all works.
Nuclear reactions inside the Sun heat its surface white hot. From that hot surface, energy
in the form of light, both visible and, to our eyes, invisible, radiates uniformly away in all
directions. Ninety million miles away, the tiny globe called Earth intercepts a minute
fraction of that solar radiation. About 30% of the radiation that falls on the Earth is
reflected directly back out into space. That’s what one sees in a picture of the Earth taken,
say, from the moon. The rest of the radiant energy is absorbed by the Earth.
A body such as the Earth that has radiant energy falling on it warms up or cools down
until it is sending energy away at the same rate it receives it. Only then is it in a kind of
equilibrium, neither warming nor cooling. In any given epoch, the Earth, like the Moon
or any other heavenly body is in steady state balance with the Sun, neither gaining nor
losing energy. That is the primary fact governing the temperature at the surface of our planet.
The rate at which the Earth radiates energy into space depends on its temperature.
Because it receives only a tiny fraction of the Sun’s energy, it radiates much less energy
than the Sun does. So, it can balance its energy books at a temperature much cooler than
the Sun. In fact it can radiate as much energy as it receives with an average surface
temperature of 0 degrees Fahrenheit. The Earth’s radiation is not visible to our eyes. It is
called infrared, or below red radiation because its color is beyond the red end of what we
are capable of seeing.
Fortunately for us, that’s not the whole story. If the average surface temperature of the
Earth were really 0 degrees F, we probably would not be here. The Earth has a gaseous
atmosphere. The atmosphere is largely transparent to the white-hot radiation from the
Sun. The nitrogen and oxygen that make up nearly all of the Earth’s atmosphere are
transparent as well to the infrared radiation from the Earth, but there are trace gases,
including water vapor, methane and carbon dioxide that absorb infrared radiation. Thus
the blanket of atmosphere traps about 88% of the heat the Earth is trying to radiate away.
The books remain balanced, with the atmosphere radiating back into space the same
amount of energy the Earth receives, but it also radiates energy back to the Earth’s
surface, warming it to a comfortable average temperature of 59 degrees F. That is what’s
known as the greenhouse effect.
There is a tiny but vital exception to the perfect energy balance of the Earth-Sun system.
Of the light that falls on the Earth, an almost imperceptible fraction gets used up
nourishing life. Through photosynthesis, plants make use of

The Causes of Police Brutality in America
Ariel MackEnglish 101Cause Effect EssayMarch 5, 2016The Causes of Police Brutality in America What makes an officer of the law physically and mentally abuse a citizen of the United States of America. A duty that is so simply; to protect and serve the citizens of America. Police brutality in American happens because of Power, Fear, and an Injustice in our Justice System. As a result of being an officer of the law you are bestowed a certain amount of power. Some officers however abuse the power. I get upset when I witness police cars running through red lights for no reason. I get even more upset when I see videos of an officer wrongfully using his or her power to wrongfully arrest citizens without probable cause. “With great power comes great responsibility.” I believe officers today have truly forgotten the meaning of that quote. Some officers believe that due to there amount of power they have the right to do as they please to whomever which in some cases can lead to fear in citizens.

Mrs. Hale And Treatment Of Women college essay help los angeles: college essay help los angeles
Trifles, Susan GlaspellEssay Preview: Trifles, Susan GlaspellReport this essay“Action is male, Silence is Female”Feminist theory is centered at the treatment of women living in a patriarchal society, especially illustrated in the short play Trifles. Feminism is the study of womens experience under the long tradition of male rule in society, which silenced womens voices, warped their lives, and treated their concerns as unimportant. Susan Glaspells Trifles depicts the plight of women and their subordination living under the negative effects of a patriarchal society. While Trifles embodies the problems of alienation women faced in the hands of a patriarchal society, in the story one woman is willing to overcome the challenge of being trifled with. This woman is Mrs. Hale.

Trifles is the story of an American (1899-1917) mother, struggling to cope with the constant threat of childbearing and the consequences of her refusal to provide sufficient support so she can be alone in her family. It is not an easy life. It takes several years, and several trips, before the mother and child will reach their peak years of childbearing. Despite her own efforts, a series of personal tragedies, in which the family suffered the effects of her overbearing parents, a daughter in her late teens was born for the sole purpose of living. Her mother, John C. Hughes, who was known as a gentle woman in her day, died of a heart attack in 1943. Hughes’ wife, Sarah, in an earlier life, went to the psychiatric ward of the state psychiatric hospital in Boston, where she was treated for depression and an obsessive disorder, but was deemed unfit to live with her husband and their two young children. Hughes, who had been a close friend of Mrs. Hughes’ for over 40 years,[1] was unable to cope without her mother at all. When she became ill and her husband had surgery to fix her face when they divorced, Mrs. Hughes and her husband attempted to move back in her house to live with the dogs. When Mrs. Hughes died a few months ago, after her husband had tried to save her life,[2] she sought help from a well known doctor, Professor Henry F. Gage, an English Physician. He was one of the early pioneers of modern medicine on the Western world and the first to treat menopausal women for their health problems.[3] He is often quoted on this topic as saying, “I want patients to stop their suffering. I want their attention to the present.”[4] Trifles is an English translation of a popular book entitled: Surgeons, Trifles, Women, and Women’s Rights (1934). It is written by Dr. Gage with a special emphasis on women. Gage is a physician specializing in the treatment of menopause. The primary purpose of this book was to address the issues pertaining to women in the field of surgery. During this time, Gage introduced research into the various aspects of women’s health which would have an impact on women as a whole.[5] Trifles is filled exclusively with interviews with doctors, clinicians, and nurses. The main focus of this book is on women, particularly those in the field of surgery. Topics covered include, but are not limited to: treatment, the development of clinical training, surgical techniques for treating the development of non-dominant or masculine characteristics, femininity and how to manage or change gender. The play depicts one woman who deals with this kind of alienation. Mrs. Wright, who has been suppressed, oppressed, and subjugated by a patriarchal husband. Her identity is lost because of her husbands expectations of her. Mrs. Wright is found at the crime scene and put in jail. She asks her friends, who are wives of the detectives investigating, to collect her apron and shawl. While the men scamper about trying to solve the crime of who did it, the women rifle through Mrs. Wrights belonging in search of her request. Noticing simple things out of place in the home or the trifles (as the men call it), they inadvertently find clues that reveal Mrs. Wright to be the murderer. However, Mrs. Hale quietly insists on preserving her own identity by protecting Mrs. Wright from the men who seek to convict her of murder. The major idea I want to write about has to do with the way Mrs. Hale stands behind Mrs. Wright even though it seems like the men would rather lock her up and throw away the key. Id like to begin by comparing and contrasting Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters. In the beginning of Trifles, we see the subject of feminism from a womans experience under patriarchy, which silenced her voice, distorted her life, and treated their concerns as peripheral. You notice this to be so because Mrs. Peters is struggling against what she is hearing the men say versus what she feels herself. When she finds Mrs. Wrights broken fruit jar she says, “Oh her fruit; it did freeze. She worried about that when it turned so cold. She said the fired go out and her jars would break.” Mr. Hale then says, “well women are used to worrying over trifles.” (Glaspell, 1043) Her voice was silenced by the mans failure to recognize her concerns as legitimate. When the women express their concerns, their observations has been silenced from speaking any further. Being silenced alienates the women, placing them in a lower status. Then you see an alternative, Mrs. Hale tells Mrs. Peters that she would hate for the men to be in her kitchen snooping around and criticizing, Mrs. Peters responds by saying “Of course its no more than their duty”. (Glaspell, 1043) This reflects to me a woman who has been so silenced because of her patronizing husband while Mrs. Hale was willing to recognize the damage the men have done by silencing women.
The domestic system the men have set up for their wives and their disregard for them after the rules and boundaries have been laid down prove to be the mens downfall. The men are outside looking for clues in the barn, completely unaware or unaltered by the fact that a woman could possibly have committed such an atrocious crime. Because women are viewed as having no power the men over look the evidence in the house; The house is for the women and their trifles. At the end of “Trifles” the women find Mrs. Wrights dead bird, with a broken neck. Coincidentally the same way her husband was murdered. Mrs. Peters notices something in a cupboard “Why, heres a bird cage! Did she have a bird, Mrs. Hale?” Mrs. Hale says, “Why I dont know whether she did or not- Ive not been here for so long. She continues, “But he was a hard man, Mrs. Peters. Just to pass the time of day with him- [Shivers.] like a raw wind that gets to the bone.” (1048) Mrs. Hale knew Mrs. Wright as Minnie Foster, a childhood friend. She remembers her singing in the choir, and being nicely dressed. This happy child later turned into an unhappy woman, with few things in life to look forward to. Mrs. Hale regrets not spending more time with

The setting begins in the in the dinning room, where everyone is sitting and reading the newspaper in Atlanta. Because the children are at home and they are about to go on a vacation, the month is June or July. The subsequent significant setting of the story is outside of Toombsboro, on a dirt road, the time is afternoon since the sky is clear with no clouds or any sun.
“She reached out and touched him on the shoulder. The Misfit sprang back as if a snake had bitten him and shot her three times through the chest.” Flannery O’Connor’s “A Good Man is Hard to Find” is the story of a family’s vacation tragically ended by a murderer and his gang. After a meddlesome Mother/Mother-In-Law/Grandmother tries to insist that the family go to Tennessee instead of Florida, it was in fact through her own insistence that prompted the family stray from the main path in search of some false, lost treasure. This deadly decision caused the family to fall prey to the Misfit. Foreshadowing at the beginning of the story hints to the reader that while on their trip to Florida, this family is destined to cross paths with the Misfit. For example, “Here this fellow that calls himself The Misfit is aloose from the Federal Pen and headed toward Florida and you read here what it says he did to these people. Just you read it.” Through O’Connor’s use of characterization, symbolism and the theme that “A Good Man is Hard to Find”, O’Connor’s point that society’s morals and faith has crumbled is conveyed.
O’Connor’s use of characterization shows the breaking down of respect and discipline in American society. From past generations to present generations, this message can be understood. Grandma represents the past with her strong “Southern Hospitality” heritage. For instance, “The old lady settled herself comfortably, removing her white cotton gloves and putting them up with her purse on the shelf in front of the back window. Her collar and cuffs were white organdy trimmed with lace and at her neckline she had pinned a purple spray of cloth violets containing a sachet. In case of an accident, anyone seeing her dead on the highway would know at once that she was a lady.” Later on she even states, “In my time…children were more respectful of their native states and their parents and everything else. People did right then.” The grandchildren, however, are a product of where this gap between social courtesy and lack of discipline apply. In the beginning of the story June Star rudely comments to her grandmother, “She wouldn’t’ stay home for a million bucks, afraid she’d miss something. She has to go everywhere we go.” When John Wesley was asked by the grandmother what he would do if confronted by the Misfit his reply was, “I’d smack his face.” In the end we found this to be very untrue. The Misfit’s character is again the result of the breakdown in humanity, family values and all of the values that have been lost in today’s culture. The Misfit may have some social graces because he says politely, “Yes mam, No mam, I pre-chate that lady,” and apologizes to the grandmother for Bailey’s harsh comment, but there is some uneasiness about the morals his own father had as a role model. There is an undertone that the Misfit’s father had a darker side and had some run-ins with the Authorities. The Misfit explained to the grandmother, “Daddy was a card himself. You could never put anything over on him. He never got in trouble with the Authorities though. Just had the knack of handling them.”
O’Connor’s symbolism throughout the story represents faith (or lack of), and death. The fact that the family had strayed from the main path onto an unimportant side road, where they were killed, symbolizes how people often “stray” from Jesus and follow the wrong path spiritually. Even the town’s name “Toombsboro” is a symbol of death. It was in this town that the grandmother thought the old plantation was. This was where she became sidetracked,
Enlargement Of The European Union And Steel Community buy argumentative essay help
Enlargement of the European UnionEssay Preview: Enlargement of the European UnionReport this essayEnlargement of the European UnionBefore the European Union was ever called that, it was entitled the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC). The European Coal and Steel Community was created in 1951 following the signing of the Treaty of Paris. The treaty was seen as foundational in bringing together Europe in peace after the Second World War (Paris). The community had six founding members: Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, West Germany, France and Italy. The main goal of the European Coal and Steel Community was to “pool the steel and coal resources of the members states under supranational authority rendering another European war technically impossible while simultaneously spurring economic development” (European Union). A French civil servant name Jean Monnet was the creator of the European Coal and Steel Community. On May 9, 1950, French foreign minister Robert Schuman made a proposal that would create an integrated Europe. This proposal was titled the Schuman Declaration.
Followed by the creation of the ESC, the United States came up with the idea to create the European Defense Community (EDC) and the European Political Community (EPC). The European Defense Community was to create a European army with a joint high command. The EDC was going to be able to allow the troops to leave Germany. The European Political Community was created to make a federation of European states. In 1954, the French National Assembly did away with both the European Defense Community and European Political Community.
Following the failure of European Defense Community and European Political Community, the European Economic Community (EEC) and the European Atomic Energy Community (EURATOM) was brought into works. The European Defense Community was used to “establish a customs union among the six founding members, based on the вЂ?four freedoms’: freedom of movement of goods, services, capital and people” (European Union). The EURATOM was “created to pool non-military nuclear resources of the states” (EU).
The European Economic Community was called the European Community (EC), from there the European Union will be created. The European Community was created with two parallel processes. The first part of the process was the “structural evolution and institutional change into a tighter bloc with more competences given to the supranational level” (European Union). This process allow for the integrating the Union. The second process was enlarging the European Communities.
Enlargement is a very powerful policy tool for the European Union. It is defined by the Treaty on European Union. It says, “That any European State which respects the EU’s fundamental democratic principles may apply to become a member of the Union” (Commission). Countries that applied for membership had to meet the economic and political criteria, along with the other criteria. The basic principles of enlargement are consolidation, conditionality, and communication.
Other countries, like Britain who were unable to belong to the EEC, decided to create its own organization. This creation was called the European Free Trade Association. After joining this group, Britain saw that the EEC was much more powerful that the EFTA. Britain then decided to apply for membership, Ireland and Denmark also followed in the footsteps of Britain and also applied for membership. Britain’s first application was filed in August 1961, under Conservative government of Harold Macmillan; it was a good chance that Britain would be allowed in. French president Charles De Gaulle vetoed Britain’s membership, in January 1963. De Gaulle felt that Britain was not opened-mind to European and was unable to accept a common agricultural policy. De Gaulle thought that by allowing Britain in would make other countries want to join EEC and it will make it lose its unity. The second application took place under the Labour government of Harold Wilson, in January 1966. Once again De Gaulle vetoed Britain’s application claiming that although Britain improve its economy he feared would be the “US Trojan horse” (European Union). Britain’s third and final application was filed in 1969 under Georges Pompidou. Britain was granted membership to the EC, once the country answer questions of agricultural finance. Britain joined the European Community, finally on January 1, 1973.
Greece applied for membership in the European Community in June 1975, under president Constantine Caramanlis, it was granted membership in January 1, 1981. Portugal sent in its application for membership in March 1977, and Spain sent their application in July 1977. Both countries were accepted for membership on January 1, 1986. During this time, the Single European Act was being signed in Luxemburg. This act was to allow the single European market.
In 1992, the Maastricht treaty was signed. The Maastricht treaty created what we known today as the European Union (EU). With the creation of the European Union, there were rules or guidelines that would need to be set up in order to have an orderly EU. These rules were known as the Copenhagen criteria that tell if a nation is eligible.
“The Criteria require that an applicant state have the institutions to forward and preserve democratic governance, human rights, a functioning coordinated market economy, and accept the obligations and intent of the EU’ (European Union).
These criteria were established in June 1993 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The criteria were divided into groups, geographic, political and economic. In 1995, Austria, Finland, Sweden were admitted to the Union on January 1, 2005. Norway applied for membership and once again was rejected. The European Economic Area had been founded, this allowed for member of EFTA to participate in the Single Market without joining the European Union. By 1999, eleven countries which include: Austria, Benelux, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Spain had left their currencies and began the use of the euro. Greece became the twelfth member in 2001. The euro notes and coins finally went into circulation on January 1, 2002. The OECD, blame the national governments for the popularity plunge because they were said to have use the “single currency as a scapegoat for more structural problems haunting the zone’s economies” (European Union).
Permanent members of EFTA were included on the new list. The member has been in the euro for 20 years and enjoys the same basic values as regular members before.
The economic group consisted of: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Slovakia. Austria had the highest net debt and current account deficit with less than €3 billion outstanding. Slovakia had a very low net debt and a high present value. The current account deficit was €3,854 billion. Iceland and Cyprus have also been included on the list.
There were 15,934,000 member of EFTA.
After the EU entry and the exit from the EEA, its member states came second in number with 6.4 million members.
The first members have been in the euro for 11 years and their national currency has not been used since. The members now are in the euro.
In March 2000, a new sovereign flag was introduced. This was based on a French flag, which it also brought to Finland (EUR1), Finland as well as Austria (PV) and France (EF). The two states, at the time of joining the EEA, had made treaties, in the period 1988 — 1989, for economic cooperation and as part of the NATO operation “Renaissance” was to promote the mutual use of energy resources. At about the same time, Austria began to offer free-trade links with Finland, which made the member states richer. There was also an agreement with Finland for free mobility and to increase agricultural production on a part of the land owned by the government. The new member states also became part of the European Economic Area (EEA) when the creation of the EEA in 1997. EFTA had been an economic cooperative zone of two to three countries, so members were already in the EEA area in 1986, 1993, and 1999. The members of EFTA in 1991 were in the EEA area for the first time since the founding in 1995. In 1999 and 2000, members were in the EEA area for the first time since the beginning of 1990, but they left over the same part of the area once again. The membership of the EEA in 1991 was less than 50%, but was now over 700 million .
The first member state came out of the EEA area as Belgium in 1997. An agreement with France under which the two states agreed to extend the terms for political and economic cooperation of mutual utilization of energy resources from 2005 onwards was followed up in 2007. The member states are now in the EEA area.
In 2007 EFTA joined the European Union.
An EEA member state came on an interim basis before joining the EEA in 2008.
EFTA in 2001 established an area of 485,061 square km (547,859 sq miles) in northern Austria, an area which is still quite small (compared to Bulgaria). It is divided into 2 parts: territory.
Between 2006 and 2010 EFTA members in Austria were considered for a number of tasks (EEA, NATO, European Economic Area and World Economic Forum, World Economic Forum 2011, Eurostat). Of the 38 EEA states which have the same degree of social security and employment benefits as EFTA, only two countries have achieved a non-social security level of over 7%.
EFTA in 2005 followed up with a large contribution from Germany, but it still remains in the EEA area.

Innovation Management – Role of the Accounting Function
Essay title: Innovation Management – Role of the Accounting Function
“If you ever become a marketer, then your friend in the company should be the accountant”
These were the words of advise given to me by my Marketing professor at Red McCombs School of Business in University of Texas, Austin. I recall this statement every time I think of costs involved in new product development or in every marketing endeavor I undertake.
The above words also applies to all persons leading an Innovation projects: Be it new product development, process improvement or research.
In the world of innovation, accountants & their contribution are one of the least appreciated. A success/failure of an innovation project is credited to the project manager or product manager or the development manager, but rarely the name of finance controller/accountant are even mentioned – sad but true.
The reason for this apathy is really simple: Engineers or product managers or development managers are far disconnected from the world of finance & accounting departments, that they really have no clue about the actual numbers. The problem is more acute in large companies, where functions and roles are so widely distributed that the development/product manager has no clue as where the accountant works! Added to the organizational complexity, there is a natural tendency among engineers to focus on the product – rather than monitor the expense accounts. Many engineers also find it extremely challenging to read an account books.
Accounting is a very important function
The role of the accountant is to maintain records of all expenses, keep financial checks and balances within the organization. All the great innovation ideas and projects can vanish in the wake of an accountant’s recommendation – So never underestimate the power of the accountant. Accountants control the money taps – they can turn it on or off.
Accountant is your partner
I remember a time when I was bidding for an IT project. The person with whom I had to work closely to develop the financial model was an accountant – a Chartered accountant. Together we developed the cost models and based on the cost models, we cameup with a pricing model to present it to the client.
When developing a plan for an innovation project, it is best to sit with an accountant and comeup with a financial plan. Gather the financial information that determines the viability of the project, at what levels of expenditure the projects become unviable, develop a plan to monitor the project expenses and constantly review the viability of the project. To do all this, you have to work with the accountant as a partner in progress.
Also remember this: Money speaks louder than ideas!
So if your idea is backed by the accountant, then people will listen to you.
Track all your Costs
Once a project is approved, then managers need to keep a close tab on the costs of the project. But that’s in an ideal world.
Reality in most organizations is that product/development managers have little clue of what their current costs are, what their total costs is, and how much more money

Chipotle: The Challenges of IntegrityChandler HullOttawa UniversityAuthor’s Note: This paper was prepared for Strategies and Policies OAD 49100 on January 23, 2018.Introduction:Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG), founded in 1993 in Denver, Colorado, was the brain child of Steve Ells. It was based on the principles of using locally-sourced ingredients (Chipotle, n.d.). In 1995, CMG had three locations and was funded by a $1.5 million investment from Ells’ father and a private stock offering. By 1998, CMG had attracted the attention of McDonalds and shortly thereafter, McDonalds became a minority investor. 1999 saw the opening of 37 more locations, expanding outside Colorado for the first time. In the same year, McDonalds also increased their investment in CMG, by becoming a majority investor in the company. This partnership lasted until 2006, when CMG was spun off as a public company. Despite becoming a newly autonomous entity, CMG continued its aggressive expansion, with a particular focus on international expansion. Since then, Chipotle has opened over 1,000 stores all over the U.S., as well as Canada and the U.K (Baylis, 2015). The purpose of this paper is to analyze Chipotle Mexican Grill’s current situation and explore areas where improvement can be made by the company’s leadership and management teams. To begin the paper, there will be a review of the key strategic issues CMG faced with recommendations for CMG following.Analysis: CMG has faced several challenges over the years, however, none as imposing as the challenge to source local, organic ingredients and increased competition. Although CMG was the pioneer for the fast-casual healthy restaurant segment, other competitors have stepped into the ring. CMG has a simple business model that consists of sourcing and offering quality ingredients, which is very easy to replicate on a local basis. This is becoming an increasing trend for many fast food and fast-casual restaurants, along with modernizing the look of their restaurants and adding more menu items. These trends are making it increasingly difficult for Chipotle to differentiate themselves in the segment, especially with local favorites. Chipotles same-store sales growth has been slowing, leaving some investors to wonder if the chain is beginning to lose its luster after 22 years in business. Chipotle also has more competitors than ever before, as the fast-casual industry gets increasingly crowded with new restaurant concepts trying desperately to replicate Chipotles success. According to the Wall Street Journal, Chipotle is facing four major challenges right now: slowing sales growth, a tightening labor market, supply chain issues, and new attacks from critics (Peterson, 2015).
CMG’s main competitors; Panera, Pei Wei and Qdoba are the largest competitors in this segment. Despite these restaurants being in the same segment, they operate differently. Panera offers all day dining menus; offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Qdoba Mexican Grill offers similar foods, however, their menu contains less filling and healthier options. Qdoba also franchises its locations. Lastly, Pei Wei offers full service, as well as fast-casual dining experiences to offer their customers more options for dining and a different ethnic offering. The threats that these companies carry are ones that CMG has no control over. These companies have explored options that CMG has avoided, such as standardized sourcing for ingredients, and have been successful with their business models. CMG will need to begin to diversify its place in the segment if they want to continue to succeed in the segment. This will require a broader menu, with more optionality and differentiation. CMG has had very little innovation over the past decade. CMG has had the mission to serve food with integrity since its early days, however, over the past decade, CMG has faced issues with the delivery of this promise. While sometimes failing to deliver on this promise, CMG has also made great strides in making it known that they have continued to strive towards their goal. By the end of 2010, CMG sourced a high enough percentage of meat from sustainable suppliers to claim that their food is from sustainable suppliers. In 2010, roughly 40% of CMG’s beans were organic, all of their cheese was rBHT free and at least 35% of one produce item was sourced from small local farms. Despite the increase in sustainably sourced food, CMG’s reputation has been under fire for a lack of transparency about their Food with integrity mission (Baylis, 2015). In 2010, CMG knew that their reputation was diminishing and that they needed to reconnect with their existing customers and attract new ones. Rebuilding customer faith was now an important goal of the Food with Integrity mission. To try and combat the negative outlook on the company, CMG focused and promoted their farm-to-table-to-consumer supply chain. Beginning in 2011, CMG began a new campaign called, Cultivate a Better World. This campaign focused on telling the story of why CMG sources sustainable foods and to also change the way people think about what they eat (Baylis, 2015).Strategies: CMG has recognized the issues that have risen over the past handful of years. To make sure these issues do not creep up again, C MG must realize that they need to shift their focus and devote themselves to their mission. First, CMG needs to focus on increasing the percentage of food that is sustainably raised. Just having a majority percentage is not enough. Customers will begin to wonder how often the “normally” raised meat is substituted. This can cause a customer to lose interest in CMG. The number of healthy options and alternatives need to be increased as well. In America, it is estimated that 35% of adults are overweight or obese (National Center for Health Statistics, 2017). Given that CMG’s customer base are adults ranging from 18-49 years old, a shift needs to happen. An adult should have 1,800 to 2,000 calories a day to maintain a healthy diet, while most of CMG’s entrees contain that much in just one meal. The excessive caloric intake can be solved by adding smaller portion sizes for guests that do not want the full serving. This approach also falls in with what other competitors are doing.

Is Gatsby Indeed Great as a Person? Gatsby is indeed great as as a person. The whole perception of his optimism, his devotion to his dreams, and passion. These are all qualities that exemplify his greatness. Gatsbys character is presented as being great in several senses, such as being optimistic, his devotion to his dreams, and passion. The way he is perceived, his potential, his greatness is only limited to an extent. Gatsby’s character is constantly displayed. He is often optimistic about getting Daisy back. Even when she could not tell him that she was only in love with him or only wanted to be with him. There were obstacles constantly being thrown his way and through it all he still never gave up. It just just made him for optimistic and determined. He always kept his eye on his dream. Gatsby is a passionate person, not only is he passionate about Daisy, but also passionate about achieving a wealthy extravagant lifestyle. How passionate he is makes him great as a person. The way he is so passionate about Daisy that,”Gatsby bought that house, so that Daisy could be just across the bay.(Fitzgerald78)”This excerpt shows how he pursues his passion of Daisy by impressing her with his beautiful things. He continues to strive for expensive things and aim to fit into the wealthy upper class in which she belongs. He pursues his passion of a wealthy lifestyle without restrictions. All this for the passion he has for Daisy, his passion makes him great.
Gatsby is not perfect, he is great, but he is still flawed. Gatsby is still obsessed, blinded by love, and wealth. Gatsby is still indeed great but the three things are just qualities that do not make him greater than great. Gatsby is obsessed with Daisy. The idea of him and Daisy consumes his life and becomes an obsession. She fell short not of herself, but of Gatsby’s image of her. Although if you really look into it you will realize that Gatsby was not really in love with Daisy but rather obsessed with the idea of who he thought she was. This is where his optimism overrules his obsession. He is optimistic about Daisy being the person who thought he met a while back. He is optimistic that Daisy is the same girl he met, the same girl he has this idea of. He is optimistic that through all the obstacles he has overcome Daisy is going to come back to him. This is why Gatsby is great, because he is constantly looking at the brighter side when it is pretty obvious that she does not only love him. Being blinded by “love” seems to be Gatsby’s greatest flaw. He believes Daisy is this kind gal that he met. His passion to conquer her is so deep he is blinded by all her negativity. Who says being passionate towards Daisy is bad? Sure, we can all see how deceiving Daisy is, but Gatsby on the other hand is truly passionate towards her. How deep Gatsby passion runs is what makes him great as a person, to still have passion for someone after years.Wealth is constantly displayed, showing how Gatsby went from having nothing to becoming this rich man. Although wealth can be seen as a negative thing it plays an enormous role. Gatsby’s devotion to his dreams, Daisy, was what got him rich. He knew Daisy wanted someone with money and status, so that is exactly what Gatsby did. He devoted his life to become something and for that he is great.

Same-Sex MarriageEssay Preview: Same-Sex MarriageReport this essaySame-Sex MarriageIntroductionThesis StatementMarriage is defined as a formal union of a man and a woman, recognized by law, which they become husband and wife. (Merriam-Webster, 2012). In 2001 ten countries began allowing same-sex couples to marry. Homosexuality is the sexual and or emotional desire for others of the same gender as oneself. Several states have legally approved same-sex marriages or civil union yet statistics states that a 40% of Americans believe that same-sex marriages threaten the organization of marriage, healthy life, family, religion, and equal rights. I believe that homosexual marriages should be allowed because it is there right.

Lest you think it is not a big deal, this post from Pew Research shows that only 7.2 million more U.S. families choose same-sex relationships in 2013.
If you want to become a spouse of someone who is gay, go for it on their blog or your wedding day.
This article from the American Philosophical Association’s The Humanist Coalition explains that, “Homosexuality may be considered a choice in life and does not necessarily make for good heterosexual marriage, but it is still not a marriage in the sense of a union of any kind. A marriage has no “same-sex” features or benefits; it simply means that the same rights and interests are shared. It has no value or importance. What happens when we allow people in the same sex lives to create a marriage? That is the most important question for us to address, and even if we want to reject the concept of a marriage in the least, we still have issues where a couple is entitled to be married.”
Why we should support same-sex marriage:
Gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender folks have been denied rights and opportunities for life and marriage in order to marry in the past, especially in places of religious obligation such as the church.
Our nation and society are still grappling with the effects of same-sex marriage on people’s lives and experiences today and even decades down the road.
Same-sex marriage is a political and social issue that has been in the news most recently during the presidential campaign when the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage in 2013. It has raised the spectre of mass civil unions within the family, and the legal ramifications of gay, lesbian, and transgender people being denied the means for a meaningful relationship. We need to remember that the legal issue currently is going nowhere. The legal issue currently is how our nation and society is currently addressing that.”
As of January 2014, this was the only national Gallup poll to say same-sex relations have not decreased or declined with age.

This essay from the American Conservative provides another insight into the relationship between gay and lesbian sex and family. The issue has become increasingly common for gays and lesbians as more and more lesbians and bisexual and transgender people discover that they cannot or do not want to have same-sex relationships, especially if that sex is a private one.

Same-Sex Marriage and Equal RightsIn the past ten years same-sex marriages have been a continuous debate. Discrimination and inequality continue to increase as the homosexual population increases. People that are against same-sex marriages argue that allowing homosexuals to marry is considered a sin in many churches. What most opposers misunderstand The 14th amendment states that all Americans are treated fairly despite race, gender, or religious preference.
Same-Sex Marriage and ReligionMost of the controversies of same-sex marriages come from religious opponents. Christians like President Obama oppose same-sex marriages but he strongly believes in equality. Religious organizations have struggled with policies, privileges and rites regarding homosexuality, including whether or not to bless same-sex unions and whether or not gays and lesbians may hold positions of authority. (New York Times, 2012).
Mr. Obama has said he opposes same-sex marriage as a Christian but describes himself as a “fierce advocate of equality” for gay men and lesbians. While Mr. Obama has said he is “open to the possibility” that his views on same-sex marriage are misguided, he had offered no signal that he intended to change his position. (New, York Times, 2012).
Same-sex and FamilySame-sex marriages have an effect on children and how they are raised. Opponents argue that children who are raised with homosexual parents will not do well. Homosexuals argue that if the children are better off with parents that have a stable relationship and are caring adults then gender should not matter. Allowing the option of marriage for same-sex couples encourages people to have strong family values and give up high-risk sexual lifestyle.
“Marriage has important consequences for children. Opponents of same-sex marriage often argue that the state should only promote opposite-sex marriage because1) marriage is fundamentally about raising children and 2) children will not do well with same-sex

Essay title: Yield Curve Introduction
What is an yield curve and how is it made. The yield curve, is a graph that depicts the relationship between bond yields and maturities, is an important tool in fixed-income investing and attempting to predict future recessions given its track record. Investors use the yield curve as a reference point for forecasting interest rates, pricing bonds and creating strategies for boosting total returns. The yield curve has also become a reliable leading indicator of economic activity.(PIMCO) A yield curve is a line that plots the interest rates, at a set point in time, of bonds having equal credit quality, but differing in maturities. The most frequently reported yield curve compares the three-month, two year, five year and the 30 year U.S. Treasury debt. The yield curve is used as a benchmark for other debt in the market; debts such as mortgage interest rates, bank lending rates and so on. A yield is the interest earned if the bond was purchased at par value and held to maturity. The yield curve takes the spread between the yields paid by short and long term debt. Economists use the yield curve to gage the overall movement in interest rates. (Schwartz 108-109, 115) Yield refers to the annual return on an investment. The yield on a bond is based on both the purchase price of the bond and the interest, or coupon, payments received. Although a bond’s coupon interest rate is usually

The Life of Ella Baker
The Life of Ella Baker Ella Baker played A key role in the African American community. She was a Civil Rights organizer with such a strong sense of humor. Ella was the most influential because Ella was a strong leader, a role model, and she also set good examples. This is The Life of Ella Baker. Ella Baker was born on December 13, 1903 in Norfolk, Virginia. Growing up in North Carolina, she developed a sense for social justice. Ella’s mind was unique and she had very strong opinions on things like racism. Those memorable thoughts[a] and opinions made woke Ella up. Ella was influenced by her grandmother, Georgianna Baker. Georgianna used to tell Baker stories about her own years in slavery. One of the stories she discussed with Ella was one time, she had been whipped for refusing to marry a man picked by her master. Hearing these stories made Ella think so she decided to do something about it. At eight years old, Ella and her mother, Georgianna Baker, her mother, moved to Littleton, North Carolina leaving busy father. Her father, Blake Miller was left behind because of his work. Getting life started, Ella’s mom decided to put Ella in a boarding school. Because of Ella being African American and the inequality and the racism still proceeding, it was hard for her to get into public schools. No help from her dad Blake, After all the hard work and dedication, Ella was proudly sent to Shaw University to start her career at 15 years old.
In 1927, Baker graduated with her degree. Shortly after graduating, Ella moved to North New York City.
