Whistleblower HIMA 350 week 2

As an inpatient coder, you have been instructed b your coding supervisor to code all debridements as excisional. You are not comfortable with this practice and tried to discuss it with her, but she stated that you were to follow her instructions and not issue queries. You went to the HIM director, who only half-listened to your concerns, saying that the coding supervisor must have a good reason for the instruction. The other coders are following her instructions without questions.
You are reluctant to get into trouble for not following the instructions and equally worried that the coding supervisor will retaliate against you in some manner if you report this practice.
In a 2- 3 page paper
1. Examine and provide a minimum of 3 options you have in the case scenario.
2. Analyze the impact of the False Claims Act as it relates to this case.
3. Recommend strategies for the inpatient coder.

Qualities of the Successful Entrepreneur: Expository Essay “essay help” site:edu Film online class help

Some individuals are great at being a team player in a work environment. Their direction and support for a task or a job comes from a supervisor. Others are inclined to prefer the challenges of business ownership. In order to be a successful business entrepreneur, specific qualities are needed. These include motivation, intelligence, service orientation, and people skills.

An entrepreneur must have the motivation to come up with a business idea. He must also search the market for similar successful businesses. Additionally, he needs to evaluate the probability of a business’s success. Finally, working long and arduous hours needed for self-employment is necessary. Lacking the motivation to look for opportunities on a daily basis or to learn more about the business all the time will spell disaster for an entrepreneur. So will failing to adapt to changes in the business environment.

Intelligence is needed for an entrepreneur to succeed, as there are aspects of business that an entrepreneur is responsible for. This includes operations, finance, marketing and sales, public relations, personnel, and compliance. The brain power needed to fuel all of these aspects of business are central to becoming an entrepreneur.

A service orientation is necessary for an entrepreneur to have success. Being able to accommodate the customers of a business is the foundation of its financial success. This is not possible with poor customer service. A natural and true desire to provide customers with products and services they need and want are crucial to a successful entrepreneurial undertaking.

People skills will serve the successful entrepreneur well. Having a passion for employees, vendors, and customers will be evident, as will an insincere or intolerant attitude. Overall, having the motivation, the intelligence, and service orientation, and the people skills needed to run a successful business are basis tenant of entrepreneurship.

reply to the students response in 150 words and provide 1 reference question Define the organizational reward system and distinguish between intrinsic and extrinsic rewards. What is more important to you and why? student response Organization Reward System is an incentive plan to reinforce and motivate desirable behavior of employees with the purpose of reinforce the image of the organization to competitors, attract new employees, as well as retain key employees and reduce turn overs. There is two types of rewards to observe: Intrinsic reward and extrinsic rewards. Intrinsic reward come from within the employee: personal satisfaction, self accomplishment related to personal or business goals, this employees perceives to be meaningful to the organization and they welcome challenges. Extrinsic rewards in the other hand is provided by the organization is tangible and is given to the employee it usually have monetary value, some examples are: bonus, awards, Incentive payments, promotions, fringe benefits. I personally prefer intrinsic rewards, the feeling of working with a purpose, the implied understanding that my work is valued, and no matter what comes the work will be handle with excellency, because every day I feel accomplished, and I like everyone that work for/with me to feel the same way, my priority at any giving moment is to have a safe space to work, leading with transparency and openly appreciate when others done well even when done well reflect the efforts of doing better. My goal in life is that no matter were I go in my profession I will find a work place were I can trust and rely in others yet I can understand some of my believes can be idealistic, and creating the perfect work place takes time, planning, effort and cost money. I realized by reading the lectures that I never realized that health benefits, pension plans, paid vacation are rewards provided by the organizations and not all organizations offer them. I can easily see my self choosing extrinsic rewards if the organization I work-for limits rewards benefits.

One Online Posting Short Essay?Need Before Nov 9th ?3PM

ON-LINE POSTINGS: Three on-line postings, submitted to the relevant Exam Period module of the class Canvas site — one per exam period – count toward your final point total. Each posting is worth up to 15 points. Your lowest posting score is dropped, so you can submit a post during all four exam periods, but again only three will count toward your final grade. If you earned perfect scores on your first three submitted during the first three exam periods, you do not need to submit a post during the last exam period. Two postings for a grade cannot be submitted during the same exam period. Postings are due Friday at 5 pm at the end of the exam period, with the exception of the posting for the last exam period which must be submitted no later than 5 PM on Friday, November 30 (NOT the last day of class). Students may submit non-graded postings to the discussion forums, but only students’ first posting during a given exam period will be graded (editing a post after it is submitted is not permitted, so make sure it looks good before submitting). Remember to keep a copy of your post before you submit it as a backup. Each posting must reflect on a recent media-related news item. You may do this by submitting a post summarizing and reacting to an item from one of these websites: Variety: (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. Billboard Biz Industry News: (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. Advertising Age: (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting Blog: (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. Your reaction can be a reflection on the implications of the news story, or whether you believe it is a good or bad trend, and why. To maximize credit, posts should be at least 300 words long, be on topic, be professionally written, make factually correct claims, offer a claim or argument beyond just summarizing the news item, use full-sentences and correct grammar/spelling, be in your own words (except in using short direct quotes, indicated by quotation marks), indicate what website and date the story came from, and be respectful to others in the class. Failure to submit a post by the deadline may mean that you will receive a ?zero for that exam period post score (this is not a problem as long as you submit during the other three exam periods).

This case is worth 80 points. CASE APPLICATION 1 Passion for the Outdoors and for People At its headquarters in Ventura, California, Patagonia’s office space feels more like a national park lodge than the main office of a $400 million retailer.100 It has a Douglas fir staircase and a portrait of Yosemite’s El Capitan. The company’s café serves organic food and drinks. There’s an infant and toddler child-care room for employees’ children. An easy one-block walk from the Pacific Ocean, employees’ surfboards are lined up by the cafeteria, ready at a moment’s notice to catch some waves. (Current wave reports are noted on a whiteboard in the lobby.) After surfing or jogging or biking, employees can freshen up in the showers in the restrooms. And no one has a private office. If an employee doesn’t want to be disturbed, he or she wears headphones. Visitors are evident by the business attire they wear. The company encourages celebrations to boost employee morale. For instance, at the Reno store, the ?Fun Patrol organizes parties throughout the year. Attracting people who share its strong passion for the outdoors and the environment, Patagonia motivates its loyal employees by giving them responsibility for the outcomes of their work and a high level of task significance that their work is meaningful because it contributes to the purpose of protecting and preserving the environment. Source: Rich Reid/Glow Images Patagonia has long been recognized as a great workplace for mothers. And it’s also earned a reputation for loyal employees, something that many retailers struggle with. Its combined voluntary and involuntary turnover in its retail stores was around 25 percent, while it was only 7 percent at headquarters. (The industry average for retail is around 44 percent.) Patagonia’s CEO Casey Sheahan says the company’s culture, camaraderie, and way of doing business is very meaningful to employees and they know that ?what they do each day is contributing toward a higher purpose-protecting and preserving the areas that most of them love spending time in. Managers are coached to define expectations, communicate deadlines, and then let employees figure out the best way to meet those. Founded by Yvon Chouinard (his profile as a Leader Who Made a Difference can be found on p. 134), Patagonia’s first and strongest passion is for the outdoors and the environment. And that attracts employees who are also passionate about those things. But Patagonia’s executives do realize that they are first and foremost a business and, even though they’re committed to doing the right thing, the company needs to remain profitable to be able to continue to do the things it’s passionate about. But that hasn’t seemed to be an issue since the recession in the early 1990s when the company had to make its only large-scale layoffs in its history.
