A Prospectus is a proposal for a research process. It contains all the information necessary to
carry out a given plan of research. Your assignment is to write a 5 page prospectus that includes
the following:
Title- The title should be interesting enough to grab the reader without being too cutesy.
Purpose- It should be clear from the proposal WHY the project is good or necessary.
Variables- It should be clear what kind of interaction you hope to describe/study and
what variables are involved. Which one(s) is dependent upon which one(s) that is
independent? It is important to carefully describe all variables- being clear on what is
included and what is excluded.
Literature Review- This is a summary of all the relevant research that has already been
done by others. You do not want to propose a study that has already been done before.
Your literature review should not only explain what others have found, but also situate
your own project. Where does it fit in?
o Is it a project that seeks to combine previous ideas?
o Is it a project that seeks to fill a void? A hole in an area of research?
o Is it a project that attempts to refute an existing piece of research?
Hypothesis- Based on your literature review, your hypothesis should essentially
summarize your line of inquiry.
Methodology- How you will go about proving/testing that hypothesis.
Data Collection- You will not actually follow through with the methodology, but it
should be clear how you could reasonably accomplish what you propose.
Avoid the personal voice. Use an objective, third-person voice.
The sources will be attached ina different document and all arent needed to be used however the amount listed do need to be used but feel free to use whichever ones help the most.

Final Summary and Assessment In this paper you should present an overall summary and assessment of the media coverage
Political Science Assignment Help Final Summary and Assessment
In this paper you should present an overall summary and assessment of the media coverage you consumed during the four weeks. Your assessment should reflect a critical understanding of the media as discussed in the course, for example, the profit motive of corporate media and its role in maintaining or re-inscribing capitalist realism. As part of your assessment, include the following:
1) Identify the overarching narrative in the coverage of the issue that you followed. What is the underlying common sense in the way this issue is reported? Did this vary in alternative media outlets? If you found counter-narratives or views that challenged the dominant common sense, discuss those too. Use specific references and quotes to illustrate.
2) Give your assessment of the appropriate role of the media in communicating information about your issue, and your evaluation of how well the media fulfill the role you define for them.
3) Compare your position(s) on this issue now with the understanding of the issue you articulated in the initial justification paper. Has your own understanding of the issue changed based on exposure to various media sources?
This paper should be written like a standard college essay, edited for errors and polished before submitting. Follow MLA or APA citation conventions for all sources cited in your work (take care that both in-text references and end references/bibliography are formatted correctly).

What is the main obstacle to improving educational equality in the U.S.?
Taking into account the feedback you received on your Draft Op-Ed, write your Final Op-Ed addressing the question above. Your Op-Ed should build on what you have learnt in the course so far. Follow the instructions below carefully.
Your Final Op-Ed should include a title and 4 paragraphs: a short introductory paragraph that motivates readers to continue reading (i.e., a “hook”), two main paragraphs that follow the instructions below, and a short conclusion.
Main paragraph #1 (max. 250 words): Write a paragraph specifying what you think, according to what we have learnt in this course, is the main obstacle to improving education equity in the U.S. Your paragraph should have the following structure:
“The main obstacle to improving the equity of U.S. education is [X].
– Theoretical argument about how/ why X affects educational equity
– Empirical evidence about the magnitude of X’s effect on educational equity.”
Main paragraph #2 (max. 200 words): Write another paragraph with the following structure:
“Another commonly cited obstacle includes [Z]. However (choose 1 of the following, and explain your choice):
– Theoretical argument about how/ why Z affects educational equity
– Empirical evidence (choose 1 of the following 3 options): Although there is evidence that Z is also an obstacle to improving the equity of U.S. education, the evidence suggests that X is a more important obstacle than Z, OR We do not have good evidence on whether or not Z affects educational equity, OR There is good evidence that Z is not an obstacle to improving educational equity.
X’s or Z’s you can consider for your Final Op-Ed:
– The level of education funding
– The structure of education funding
– The education governance structure
– White parents and voters’ attitudes toward racial and ethnic minorities
– Teacher unions’ right to engage in collective bargaining
– Politicians’ lack of responsiveness to public opinion
– The underrepresentation of women in politics
– The underrepresentation of racial minorities in politics
ONLY USE THE ATTACHED SOURCES.
When referencing a reading, you should cite it within the main text using a style that is appropriate for an Op-Ed (e.g., “a study conducted by Jane Doe and colleagues…”, “research conducted by John Doe and other political scientists…”, etc.)
