You will make an argument about the film you have watched. This argument should incorporate a close reading of a particular scene and tell me how it supports an argument about the play’s meaning. Is it making a cultural, social, religious, Marxist, gendered, moral, or another point? What is interesting about the director’s choices? You will incorporate some discussion of at least a couple of the following topics: cinematography (camera movement), lighting, costume and makeup, acting, movement, space, OR setting. States impose taxes through statutes (referred to as im essay help online). By way of background.
States impose taxes through statutes (referred to as imposition statutes). The amount of activity in or in connection with a state that a taxpayer must have before the taxpayer will be subject to the state’s taxes is defined by the state’s imposition statute, regulations, and case law and varies from state to state. Usually, a state’s imposition statute is written broadly and will make a taxpayer subject to state taxes if the taxpayer is an individual residing or domiciled in the state, is incorporated under state law, is “doing business” within the state, or is “earning or receiving income” from sources within the state.
Notwithstanding what a state’s imposition statute says, whether or not a state has the power to tax someone is limited by the state’s constitution, the U.S. Constitution, Public Law 86-272, and the Internet Tax Freedom Act. A state’s constitution may limit what types of taxes may be imposed, what types of property may be taxed, how property is valued, and what rates may be imposed.
Municipalities and other local governments may not be able to impose a tax unless explicitly authorized by state law.
The U.S. Constitution restrains the power of a state to impose taxes through various provisions:
•Due Process Clause
•Equal Protection Clause
•Privileges and Immunities Clause
In a 2 to 3-page white paper briefly discuss each type of State and Local Tax. Include in your discussion any appointment issues inherent in each type of tax and the tax ramifications to the recipients of any proceeds

I INCLUDE MY PROFESSOR’S REPLY FOR PREVIOUS ASSIGNMENT: Your policy brief draft has many problems. For one, you don’t have a strongly defined policy, you’re simply asking “is the debt sustainable?” Secondly, you’re not clearly identifying 3-4 arguments on either side. The discussion is more rambling and unfocused. Don’t simply summarize various articles you’ve researched. Identify a policy, a think tank, and their arguments. For example, “Americans for Debt Reduction argues debt/GDP ratio must quickly be brought down to XXX% because, 1) debt threatens the economy, 2) debt will force high taxes on future generations, 3) debt will hurt America’s credit rating.” This is just a hypothetical example to illustrate but you need to clearly identify the policy, arguments, and think tanks that make them.

(2). IF WE SUSPEND 30%, IT WOULD …

Peter decides to conduct a poll on likely voters to see how much support his ideas might have.
He calls a local town hall meeting where only registered voters, who are going to vote this fall,
may attend. 100 people RSVP. He figures that this sample population would easily be
representative of the nation as a whole.
Peter has the event catered for the first hour of the event – the meet and greet. Peter decides
this is the best time to poll individuals about his ideas before he speaks to them en masse. The
following are the questions that Peter asks each person:
1. Do you think that America should expand the economy and thus create more jobs for
2. Do you think that America should repair the roads and bridges that are crumbling
because they have not been repaired in years?
Upon the conclusion of polling at the end of the hour, Peter has talked to every one of the 100
people in attendance. Each one of them answered ‘yes’ to each of the two questions. Peter
then concludes that his ideas would be supported by the entire nation and that every voting
citizen would vote for the Whig Party.

Understanding Judith Butler’s Precariousness and Grievability theory college application essay helpThe Theory
Understanding Judith Butler’s Precariousness and Grievability theory is not easy. Start with focusing on three key terms. Activate your knowledge about each of these terms using your lived experiences. Ann listen to my last two class lectures where I explain her theory.
Apprehension: What does Butler mean when she applies this term to people? How is apprehending different from seeing (think how hearing is different form listening)? What might the difference be between seeing a homeless (or unhoused person) and apprehending them? Butler does NOT mean apprehension in the same context as law enforcement though I suppose the root concept is similar.
Precariousness: What does Butler mean when she applies this term to people? Think about precarity as your standing on the edge of an ocean cliff THROUGHOUT your whole life. That is precarity; a wrong move and you die. Recognizing someone’s precarity means recognizing their mortality, the susceptibility of the human body for injury, thirst or starvation, etc. If you apprehend the humanity of a person, you should also be able to sense their precarity.
Grievability: What does Butler mean when she applies this term to people? Well most of us have grieved something, someone, or the outcome of some situation. It might be a simple as grieving your lost 4.0 GPA if you earn a C in a class. Or you may grieve the loss of a loved one; someone you apprehended and sensed the precarity of without having to think about it. Of course, you will grieve a loved one. However to grieve the death of an unhoused (homeless) person or a Russian soldier or a Ukrainian mother, you have to first apprehend them as a person in Butler’s sense of the term. The little match girl is desperately poor and abused. I know her story will bring many readers to tears. If you read about a child dying from starvation in Sudan, would you grieve? Would you be concerned her for more than a nano-second (whatever that is)?

Write a detailed case analysis of a firm of your own choosing( Office depot Corp scholarship essay helpWrite a detailed case analysis of a firm of your own choosing( Office depot Corporation) . Make sure to select a firm that we did not cover as a case study during the course, and one that you did not analyze as part of your group project submission.
Identify what the firm is doing to strategically address responsible business issues and how these efforts do (or do not) fit with the firm’s overall strategy, business model and organizational structure. Evaluate whether these efforts are effective in moving society towards sustainability in addition to improving the competitiveness of the firm. I therefore expect you to critically evaluate whether the company is able to synergistically integrate ESG issues into the core of the business to generate both financial as well as social value. Explain how the firm can do so (or failing to do so) and moreover, please propose concrete actions (and justify them) that managers could take to better achieve both objectives.
In performing your analysis, I expect you to judiciously draw from the concepts, theoretical and practical frameworks, tools, key learnings and insights as well as resources, articles and data sources that we covered in this course. In the final session of the course, I will ask as many of you as possible to briefly present the company you have chosen and some of your preliminary findings. The assignment can be no longer than 4 single-spaced pages with margins of at least one inch and a font of at least eleven points. The page limit will be strictly enforced to be fair to everybody. You may include appendices which do not count towards the page limit. The grade will be given based on the core text, so please ensure that everything pertinent is in the first 4 pages. I will only look at the appendices if we need to verify a statement made in the core text.

David Hume (1711-1776) was one of the leaders in the empiricist approach to ethi essay help site:eduDavid Hume (1711-1776) was one of the leaders in the empiricist approach to ethics. He built on the work of Thomas Hobbes, John Locke and others but tried to be even more consistent in his empiricism than they were.
Hume argues against the traditional conception of ethics based on the “moral realism” handed down from Plato and Augustine, replacing their doctrine that reason was the source of moral principles with his own theory that moral principles are based on emotion (FILE ATTACHED), in particular on feelings of conscience, or moral sense.
Hume knew that his theory was likely to bring a negative response, so he argued carefully against moral realism before presenting his own theory.
In the passage from Hume’s Treatise of Human Nature book 3, part 1, section 1, #24 (Human Nature: A Reader p. 144-145), Hume presents what he regards as a conclusive argument against moral realism. Explain this argument and explain whether you think it is effective or not. It’s a tricky argument, so try to understand it clearly before being critical.
